Bakota

Formerly a fortified town in the Principality of Galicia-Volyn’, Bakota was first mentioned in the Hypatian Chronicle under the year 1240. It is located in the valley of the Dnister River in eastern Podilia. It is now a village near Kamianets-Podilskyi (Khmelnytskiy Region). Bakota has an ancient Orthodox cave monastery with frescoes and paintings dating back to the 12th-14th centuries. There is a Paleolithic archeological site near the village.

Buky Canyon

Buky Canyon remains one of the hidden gems of Ukraine and one of its most beautiful natural wonders. Located in the heart of Ukraine, about 180 km away from Kyiv and 30 km away from Zhashkiv, this relatively small, approximately 5 km (or 3 miles) long, 20 m (22 yd.) deep and anywhere from 20 to 40 m wide canyon attracts numerous travelers.
This canyon was formed by the Hirs’kyi Tikych (Tikych Mountain) River in the crystalline rocks of the Ukrainian ground shield. These Precambrian granitic rocks create a picturesque landscape in the form of steep cliffs and tumultuous rapids. Experienced travelers say that Buky rocks are very similar to the famous Norwegian fjords. Although, instead of the Bay, between the sheer cliffs, the snake-like Tikych Mountain River flows.

Dzhuryn Waterfall

Dzhuryn Waterfall is one of the most beautiful Ukrainian waterfalls. It is located near Chervonohrad town in Ternopil' Region just by the Chervonohrad Castle ruins.

The Pink Lake

The Pink Lake is located in Grygorivka village, Kherson Region in Ukraine. Locals call this lake the Ukrainian Dead Sea. The percentage of sea salt in the water reaches 35%. Rich in sulphur and an array of other minerals, these waters are considered to have endless health and beauty benefits.

This is also a popular summer destination for many Ukrainians, that’s why it’s better to visit this lake in mid or late spring to avoid the tourists’ crowds and enjoy the beauty of this natural miracle.

Seymsky Reserve near Sumy

Visit Caucasian wisents (bisons) at the Seymsky Reserve near Sumy. Spring is probably the best time to visit Seymsky natural reserve and spot massive herds of wild bisons, as it’s too cold for the tours in winter and in summer wisent families go deep into the forests as they can find a plenty of food there. During spring bisons can still be spotted near the feeding stations located in the front parts of the reserve.

Oleshky Sands

The huge desert that spreads over several districts of the Kherson Region is one of the most striking places in southern Ukraine. Oleshky Sands is the biggest sand area in Ukraine, and some even call it the only desert in Europe.

In recent years this amazing place has become more and more popular with tourists. And no wonder: endless golden sand dunes against the background of unbelievably blue sky framed by green pine forests are like a scene from a fairytale that came to life.

Synevir Lake
Synevir is the largest and one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Carpathian Mountains. It is also called "Sea Eye" or "Pearl of the Carpathians". The lake attracts tourists with crystal clear waters and unique landscapes. There is beautiful legend that the picturesque blue lake was formed from the tears of the count's daughter Syn on the place where her father had killed her beloved - a shepherd Vir. Now only two wooden statues of lovers remind about that story.
