Kyiv Food and Wine Festival in October 2016

Photo: pinterest.comOn October 1st and 2nd, Kyiv will host the seventh Food and Wine Festival. This time the festival theme will be wine and meat. In addition to an interesting theme the festival will move to the new location. In 2016 all the foodies are invited to taste the classical combination of fine wine and selected meats at Expocenter of Ukraine known as VDNH complex.

The schedule of the Food and Wine festival promises to be exceptionally busy this year. The event will offer all the guests the wine run, the wine museum section, grape stomping vat, «The wine week», beautiful decor, lectures on wine and wine tastings from leading Ukrainian and foreign wine houses.

The meats market will awe the guests with Ukrainian jamóns, artisan smoked sausages, halal meats, prime steaks and quarry. The wine market will consist of over 100 brands, both Ukrainian and foreign. The wine section of the festival puts a stress on red and sparkling wines.
Wine course of lectures will last for two days from 1 to 7 PM. During these lectures experiences sommeliers will share their knowledge and secrets about wine. The wine course lectures are free for all the visitors.

Ukrainian «Cotnar» wine house will bring a giant grape stomping vat to the festival in order to show the authentic traditions of wine making to all the visitors. Organizers of the festival promise that there will be plenty of grape available for stomping during both days of the festival. The wine museum will help to learn even more on winemaking techniques and traditions.

The Wine Run will be held on October, 2nd. This is a unique and fun event that combines the marathon and wine tastings. All the runners will have a chance to taste various kinds of wine at the chateau-stops located along the 5 km route. This is a costume run, so the special present will go to the participant with the most original costume. The winner of the run will get a lot of wine, naturally. However, the weight of the wine will be equal to the winner’s body weight. Prior registration is required to take part in the Wine Run.
