Arturo Sandoval Concert in Kyiv

Arturo Sandoval Concert in Kyiv

The legend of the world jazz, Arturo Sandoval from USA, will grace Kyiv during the ongoing big European tour. On March 2, October Palace will be filled with live passionate jazz performance.

A 10-time Grammy Award winner, Arturo Sandoval is a virtuous trumpet and piano master, madly in love with jazz — along with Charlie Parker, he is one of the founders of the improv bebop style. As a true improviser, Arturo's repertoire isn't limited only by classics — he also performs passionate Latin jazz and covers of modern songs. Besides, in the 70s he founded the Irakere band, which became an embodiment of Cuban jazz traditions and a real phenomenon not only in Cuba, but also far beyond its borders.

Arturo is known not only for his solo performance, but also collaborations with famous classic and contemporary stars of music world: Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Rod Stewart, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Justin Timberlake and many others. His unique talent of playing tube and experimental nature was critically acclaimed numerous times: apart from Grammy, Arturo is also a six-time winner of the Billboard Prize and Emmy Award winner. In 2013, former USA president Barack Obama granted Arturo with Medal of Freedom — the highest civilian award of the United States.
