Italian from Beirut: New Fusion Cuisine Restaurant in Kyiv

Stylish restaurant interior

The new restaurant opened on Podil not far from the Kontraktova Ploshcha station introduces a new intriguing fusion: mixed Lebanese and Italian cuisine. The mystery lies in the chef's path that started in Italy and advanced in Beirut, hence the restaurant name. If you ever wondered how pizza and kebab can go together, this is a chance to find out.

The new restaurant opened at the beginning of September 2018 on Yaroslavskyi Lane - a quiet Podil street that lies ten minutes away from the Kontraktova Ploshcha metro station. While the exterior suggests it might be a fashionable boutique, in fact, it's a middle-class restaurant with a quite intriguing menu.

To give an idea, Italian from Beirut has various dishes that represent both Lebanese and Italian cuisine like pasta-salad with kebab or a pizzetta with kebab, cherry tomatoes and mozzarella.Lebanese and Italian dishes and coffee

For those who'd like to keep the culinary traditions separate, the menu is filled with numerous traditional picks from both cuisines. Thus, there are 5 types of kebab - beef, lamb, chicken and bacon, vegetables, beef and mutton - to represent one of the most popular Oriental dishes. The entrées include three types of hummus, a meze set, and labneh cheese with smoked tomatoes and a fried bagel.

As for the Italian accent, there are four types of pasta on the menu - classic lasagna, alla puttanesca with anchovy, à la carbonara, and aglio e olio with tomatoes, parmesan and chickpeas. Besides, pizzettas with four different flavors from kebab to cheese are available as well. The dessert section is represented by the chef's special cheesecake, a tart with creme and fruits, and a classic baklava with nuts.
