Pasha: the New Turkish Restaurant in Downtown Kyiv

Assortment of Turkish cuisine dishes

The center of Kyiv is sprinkled with multinational cuisine restaurants like an exquisite dessert: you got Pan-Asian, Ukrainian, Italian and Turkish all together in just one neighborhood. July 2018 brought us one more spot with shish kebab and Turkish delights – Pasha restaurant on Shota Rustaveli.

Pasha follows the recent trend of introducing the restaurant team to the public. Their chef, Shakir Demirer, is a Turkish native who traveled around the world but irreversibly fell in love with Ukraine. He learned culinary arts, inspired by his father who worked as a butcher for his whole life. Now, Shakir surprises the guests of Pasha with the real Turkish flavor in Kyiv.

The restaurant has an open kitchen, traditional Turkish ovens, grill and a special salting room. It is essentially a container for meat, where products enhance their aroma and flavor thanks to the special storing conditions.

The menu is full of pastries with various tastes: for instance, a traditional boat-shaped pide with spinach, chopped veal and caramelized onion, the so-called ‘Turkish pizza’ lahmajoun, or the most popular pastry in Turkey — simit donut. Meat from the salting room transforms into the well-known shashlik or shish kebabs with a spicy finish.
