SIL` award, founded in 2013 by HOTELIERO hoteliers and restauranteurs club, is nowadays the most important event of the year for professional restaurant community of Ukraine. The prizes are given to the restaurants that are nominated for participation in the award on their own initiative, then are chosen by the Experts and undergo check of the professional award Jury. The winners receive symbolical copper frying pan that is the quality label of Ukrainian restaurants.
The main purpose of SIL` is to define and to award the best restaurants of Ukraine, to consolidate members of the branch by the idea of further development and increase of services quality, and to help customers learn about the top restaurants and cafes of Ukraine.
The formation of finalists list was done in three separate stages:
І stage: top 3 in each nomination that received the most votes of the award Experts;
ІІ stage: 3 restaurants in each nomination from the list of the Experts that received the most votes from the members of Jury;
ІІІ stage: top 2 of each nomination from the list of restaurants chosen by the Jury.
The number of restaurants in each nomination may vary if some restaurants of the leaders top list receive the same number of votes.
This year, 3 new nominations were included into SIL` award list: “The best pub”, “The best bakery” and “The best street food”. Therefore, in 2018, 147 restaurants from 14 Ukrainian cities will compete in 16 SIL` nominations:

The next stage of the award is checking the finalists by the Jury, which, by the way, includes some new members this year. The Jury members will personally visit each restaurant until October 31, 2018, evaluating them by four criteria: “Cuisine”, “Service”, “Atmosphere” and “Specialization”. The winners of SIL` award will be chosen in each nomination by the Jury`s votes. Their names will be publically announced in the course of the VI high-profile award ceremony that will take place on December 2, 2018, in “Parkovy” congress and exhibition complex.
