This year, Level UP brought together more than 600 entrepreneurs, representatives of government and international organizations, as well as members of numerous business associations at the Parkovy Exhibition and Convention Center. Their cooperation will ensure the long-term development and transformation of the state.
The general partner of the Forum was the Georgian Industrial Group (GIG). It is the largest industrial holding in Georgia, business interests of which cover different sectors from real estate to energy.
Gela Bezhuashvili, Non-Executive Director Georgian Industrial Group and member of the GIG board, joined the panel discussion “Continuing development: principles of continuous education for business, government and adult population of the country ”. During the discussion of the possibilities of providing quality education by business, Gela shared his experience of creating a European school. Its peculiarity is providing students with not only knowledge, but also competencies – the ability to use knowledge in practice. The school is equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories, and there is also a 3D printer. Students are learning to code and promote their own products with the help of marketing.
“Schooling is the basic focus of any state. And our goal is to develop practical skills that are useful in work”, Bezhuashvili said.
He outlined three main issues of education. What to teach, how to teach, and who teaches.
“We are introducing a Project based learning method for high school students. In such projects, which are managed by 4 teachers at the same time, students use the knowledge learned from practice”, Bezhuashvili said.
According to Gela, the teacher is the most difficult issue.
“Today, teachers know the subject, but do not know how to teach it. They have modern digital equipment, but they do not know how to use it. We have developed a 10-year school digital transformation programme. We will teach teachers how to use all modern tools”, says a member of the GIG board.
The panel discussion was also attended by Oleksandr Borniakov, Deputy Minister for Digital Transformation of Ukraine; Yevhen Bulakh, Sales Director of Vodafone Ukraine; Vladyslav Savchenko, CEO and founder of PowerCode; Oleksandr Savruk, PhD in Economics, Head of KMBS, Serhii Korsunsky, Director of the Diplomatic Academy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; Oleh Shevchuk, First Director of the State Fiscal Service University and Valeryi Kopiyka, Doctor of Political Science, Professor, Director of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University in Ukraine.
Level Up has been held for the fourth consecutive year. The main mission of the Forum is to ensure partnership between business, government and society, resulting in real action in Ukraine. This is a platform for reformers, it brings together communities, organizations and personalities of Ukraine and the world to create positive changes in the state.
