Pedro Lenz is a writer, columnist of several Swiss newspapers, including "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" and "WOZ Die Wochenzeitung". He also writes texts for the Swiss radio and theater. Pedro's "Der Goaliebinig" was adapted for the screen, and the movie won awards in seven nominations at the Swiss Film Awards 2014. The author is the winner of numerous awards, including the Award of the Canton Solothurn Prize for Literature, Literature Prize of Bern Canton, The Langenthal City Culture Award.
"My Friend Crane Engineer" by Pedro Lenz is the first collection of poems that will become a part of the "Translation series by Serhii Zhadan". The new project is introduced by the famous Ukrainian writer and the Meridian Chernovits publishing house. The series will include translations of world-famous poets.Serhii Zhadan is a Ukrainian poet, prose writer, essayist and translator. He translates from German, English, Belarusian, Polish and Russian. Literary works by Serhii Zhadan received numerous national and international awards and were translated into twenty languages, making him one of the most famous contemporary Ukrainian writers.
The "My Friend Crane Engineer" is published with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine and the Swiss Cultural Foundation Pro Helvetia.
Besides, the Publishing House 21 will present the Ukrainian edition of the "Keeper is Me" novel by Pedro Lenz, translated by Yurko Prokhasko.
Pedro Lenz shows the environment and people he knows very well, and how this environment and choices form different people who grew up in the about same conditions. In order to accurately convey the atmosphere of this environment, Pedro Lenz wrote his novel in the Bernese Swiss dialect.

Pedro Lenz and translators, Serhii Zhadan, Yurko Prokhasko, Yevheniia Lopata will be present at the Bukovyna Media Center / Belle Vue (entrance from 2, Kobylianska Street, 2nd floor).
