7 Child-friendly Dining Spots in Odesa

Going out with kids might seem an ordeal in a tourist city like Odesa — all popular locations are often cramped and not suitable for kids. Each year more and more kid-friendly locations appear both in downtown and near the sea to satisfy the needs of families. We chose a top-7 to visit with the little ones.

Dacha
dacha
Dacha, which means a "country house", is located in a beautiful historical building on Frantsuzky (French) Boulevard. The restaurant recreates the interior and atmosphere of the 1930s holiday houses so popular in Odesa. The abundance of light and greenery topped with attentive service make it one of the most kid-friendly fine dining spots in Odesa. Dacha offers a separate kid's menu available in English, a large playground and even a culinary school. The latter is opened for 6-14 y.o. kids and teaches the cooking secrets in a fun way. Moreover, kids are welcome to take their culinary masterpieces back home to share with parents.

Kompot

Despite being a popular tourist place thanks to its location on Derybasivska Street, Kompot nevertheless keeps its cozy vibe. The main menu delights with a wide variety of desserts like apple strudel, cheesecake, eclairs and a caramel sorbet. Kids are offered a separate menu with more healthy and nutritious picks before the sweet treat. Kompot also serves breakfasts available all day long starting as soon as 8 A.M. The open-air green terrace on Derybasivska is especially popular with guests.

Despite the busy tourist flow on Derybasivska Street, entering the restaurant feels like traveling to Provence thanks to the cozy interior, an open-air terrace and French cuisine. Guests are welcome to relax in gazebos on the terrace and enjoy the fresh air of the city park while kids play on the grass or explore fountains. The green location makes it a good spot to spend quality time with kids without leaving downtown. Visitors have pointed out exquisite oysters beloved even by children. Crêpes with orange or berry flambé sauce are one more popular pick here. Jardin holds regular culinary workshops for kids.
