Olga Morozova: A Kyiv Woman Who Thinks in Color

Olga Morozova

On May 27 at 7.00 p.m. in the BARVY art space, the opening of the solo exhibition of the Kiev artist Olga Morozova "10 x 10. Lestvitsa" will be held, within which scrolls and pastels devoted to Kyiv will be presented.

"It's just 10 pastels and 10 scrolls, which are united by the common theme “Stairs of Kyiv", - says Olga Morozova. - Scrolls that are not stretched like a canvas, but flow, they are the movement which is an image of steps."

Art curator Alexander Zhuravlev gives his interpretation: "Scrolls are a movement that transforms into development, pastels are stops as a reflection."

Pastel

By the way, pastels by Olga will be exhibited for the first time. This is an old-new creative capture of the artist, in her handbag since recently you will find chalk and paper. And in the fierce pace of life for Olga it is important to catch the moment, stop, feel inspiration, mood and make a sketch in pastel. It can happen in the middle of the street next to the old house or in the Kyiv cozy park among flowers in the spring or during the leaf fall of November ... These meditations, embodied in images and colors, will be presented by the artist to all guests of the forthcoming exhibition.

The theme of Kyiv is one of the leitmotifs of Olga Morozova's creativity. From first student compositions to entire artistic series. "What does my native city mean to me? This is an appeal to the roots, to the place of power. It is love, it is a complete acceptance with all the nuances, joy and sadness. I perceive my hometown as a loved one."
