“Ukrainian Art Fest Nuova Primavera” in the Heart of Rome

Ukrainian Art Fest Nuova Primavera

Presentation of the Ukrainian project “Ukrainian Art Fest Nuova Primavera” was successfully held in the old museum complex Palazzo Velli Expo in the heart of Rome.

The project was organized by the Cultural Center "ArtLine" with the support of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Ukraine in Italy. Project curator Marianna Abramova set a goal to unite different areas of creativity in order to create synergies that would demonstrate a high level of intellectual and creative potential that characterizes modern Ukraine.

The exhibition presented the modern Ukrainian art, art ceramics, enamel, painting on glass, collage, fashion illustration, the designer dolls, scarves and hats, fine jewelry, original perfumes and Haute Couture fashion.

More than 20 authors presented their unique interpretation of the exhibition theme – the theme of spring, spiritual transformation, the emergence of new ideas and meanings. The grand opening of the project started with luxurious Haute Couture collection show “LUMINOUS SHINE OF ETERNITY” by YS – one of the brightest young Ukrainian designers Yanis Stepanenko.

Authentic Ukrainian and Old Slavic silhouettes of the collection, which the designer interpreted in a modern context, very organically interacted with the space of the old Palazzo Vellі. The collection was first presented in Italy and was highly appreciated by the Italian fashion public.

The designer perfume SVET was for the first time presented to the foreign audience by famous Ukrainian perfumer Bogdan Zubchenko and the mastermind of the fragrance, the founder of the Clinic of Medical Cosmetology ESTHEL Svetlana Lysenko. The demanding Italian audience was pleasantly surprised by the development of perfumery art in Ukraine.

The exquisite jewelry art of Stanislav Drokin is already known in Italy. The master received the first place in the prestigious international competition “Artistar Jewels -2018” in Milan and successfully continued his way to a foreign audience, receiving a high rating at the exhibition in Rome.

For most artists “Ukrainian Art Fest Nuova Primavera” was the first opportunity to demonstrate their art in Italy. The personal presence of the authors made this exhibition particularly full of emotion and sense.

The rich and varied exhibition impressed the Italian audience. The format of the exhibition attracted wide interest. The opening was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions, art critics and curators, journalists, representatives of the fashion industry and creative elite of Italy.

The deep philosophical context, high professional level, the ability to follow traditions and discuss current challenges using modern language inspired Italian art critics to talk about the real Ukrainian spring, about the Ukrainian Renaissance.

"I'm glad that the project has caused a resonance. Italian public is difficult to surprise. But it seems that together we were able to pave the way for Ukrainian art. Each of the authors found his viewer in Rome. There is intention to invite Ukrainian artists to participate in further projects. They wait us on the exhibitions and projects abroad. This is the main point. Spiritually Ukraine has long been a significant part of the global art context. But we lack “physical presence.” I want to thank for supporting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in Italy, due to which this became possible. It is very pleasant to receive such a warm welcome and to hear from the Italian audience the wish that this project should become annual. So the show is over, but the work continues! "- says the curator Marianna Abramova.
