The construction of this temple began in 1137, during its existence it was destroyed and rebuilt many times. Here was the funeral of Mozart in 1791 and the Emperor Franz Joseph in 1916. You can climb to the observation deck of the South Tower of the cathedral by the stairs which are located outside the Cathedral.

The Musical Anchor Clock (Anker-Uhr) is another landmark of Vienna. They were established in 1917 by order of Anker insurance company. Every day at exactly 12-00 the figures depicting the characters who played a large role in the history of Austria come to life. They pass in front of the audience with the music. The presentation lasts 12 minutes symbolizing 12 historical eras.

Vienna City Hall attracts tourist as well. It was built in 1883. The author of the project also built the famous cathedral in Cologne. It houses the burgomaster and the municipality of the city. The Burgtheater, one of the iconic theaters of the world, founded in 1776, is located just opposite the City Hall.

Schönbrunn Palace - the summer residence of the Habsburgs, is one of the main and most visited tourist attractions in Vienna. The total area of the palace complex is 1.5 sq. Km. Here you can walk and admire the beauty of this place.

The Vienna Opera (Wiener Staatsoper) is the largest opera house in Austria, one of the centers of musical culture in Europe. The Vienna Opera was started to be built in 1861. Outstanding musicians performed on its stage, and today it is still a place of recognition of musical merits. Ticket prices start from 11 euros to 230 euros, sales start in 2 months before the event.

Across the road, opposite the Museum Quarter, there is the majestic Maria-Theresien-Platz square. There is a monument to Empress Maria Theresa in the center, on the left - the luxurious building of the Museum of Art History is located, on the right - the Museum of Natural History. It is worth mentioning the Albertina museum as well, where a large collection of Monet and other prominent artists is represented.

Hundertwasser House is a very special building in Vienna and one of touristic attractions of the city.
Friedrich Shtovasser, better known as Friedenstreich Hundertwasser, got scandalous fame in 1970, when he came to a television show completely naked only in cap. At the show, he said he was ready to change Vienna. To do this, people need to return to mother-nature, take from her the best - to abandon straight lines and use only natural materials. Hundertwasser’s house is one of his creations.

If you are hungry after a long walk, you should try the local cuisine. There are two Figlmüler restaurants not far from St. Stephen’s Cathedral in the center of Vienna. They are also called the House of Schnitzel. Since 1905, the Figlmüller brothers have been cooking this famous Austrian dish here. And, of course, it’s impossible not to drink the famous Melange coffee with no less famous Sachertorte in the house of Julius Meinl in the center of Vienna.
