Ukrainian Fashion Week
The main fashion event of this autumn in Ukraine, UFW SS 2019, has already begun. Ukrainian Fashion Week has a rich and extensive history — it was held for the first time way back in November 1997. UFW established itself as the first professional fashion event in Eastern Europe. Ukrainian Fashion Week traditionally takes place twice a year, when it gathers more than 60 participants and is attended by over 20000 guests every time. For young designers participation at UFW means a chance for their brand to be recognized on the international level.
This season the titans of Ukrainian fashion and newcomers present their S/S 2019 collections in various locations in Kyiv. One of the loudest shows of UFW was the comeback of the famous designer Lilya Litkovskaya, who presented her special project LL by LITKOVSKAYA on the second day of the show. Other designers that will take part in this season are POUSTOVIT, ANDRE TAN, KSENIA SCHNAIDER, DZHUS, LUBA MAKARENKO. Guests of the event will see the new names as well: MIMI FOR YOU, Kristina LAPTSO, VARONA, PONETAIKIN will present their creations for the first time.

Kyiv Fashion Fest
Kyiv Fashion Fest is another fashion event of fall 2018 in Kyiv that annually gathers numerous local and foreign brands. Kyiv Fashion is held twice a year in September and in February. Within 15 years of its existence, the exhibition became a major event in Ukraine’s fashion industry, as it presents brands in several segments at the same time. Thus, visitors can choose to attend the salon of leather and fur, the salon of underwear, or the special Kyiv Fashion Kids for the smallest lovers of fashion.
This year’s program will include not only defiles but also lectures and seminars by professionals from the fashion industry. As the program is currently being developed, some brands were already announced to be presented: minimalistic ethnics by Svitla Volka, SNOWBEARS men's outerwear, Jasmine women's underwear, MAGA jewerly and others.
The event will take place at the International Exhibition Center at 15, Brovarsky Avenue. It’s conveniently reached from the Livoberezhna metro station. You can visit the event free of charge with a prior registration on the English version of kyivfashion.kiev.ua.

Odesa Fashion Week
Sure enough, UFW isn’t the only major fashion event that takes place in Ukraine in autumn 2018. Odesa Fashion Week, the first professional fashion week in the city near the Black Sea, follows the same aim: promoting the local fashion industry by presenting Ukrainian brands of clothing, footwear and accessories. The event follows all worldwide principles of the organization of fashion shows and represents the only professional platform in Odesa for designers to pave the way for their creations to be recognized.
Odesa Fashion Week takes place three times a year and presents prêt-à-porter, de-luxe and cruise collections of famous Ukrainian and foreign designers. The show is also aimed at discovering new names in the fashion industry. The SS 19 show will take place in ‘Sady Pobedy’ concert hall. The designers are currently applying for the SS 19 after the recent cruise collections show, so the detailed program and the list of participants will be announced soon.

Lviv Fashion Week
Another major fashion event of this autumn, Lviv Fashion Week, is an international project that follows international standards of ready-to-wear fashion shows. Just like its counterparts in Kyiv and Odesa, Lviv Fashion Week is aimed at creating opportunities of economic development for the Ukrainian ready-to-wear brands and supporting young designers. Visiting LFW is a perfect chance to get familiar with the next generation of designers, as the organizers pay special attention to the young blood. Lviv Fashion Week has been held biannually in Lviv since 2008.
Now, it is one of the largest fashion events in Eastern Europe, which hosts more than 12 000 visitors each season. Moreover, it’s a place of gathering for international guests, editors, photographers, bloggers and trendsetters. The participants come from Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Latvia, Estonia, France, Italy, Spain, and Israel. The list of designers includes, among others, Couture de fleur, DIYA, Kristina Prokopiv, THE LACE, Bunt and Olena Levynska. Apart from the traditional catwalk shows, Lviv Fashion Week offers showcases, presentations of accessories, and showrooms to get acquainted with Ukrainian fashion.
Every season LFW organizes lectures by fashion-industry experts as well as charitable and art-projects. Apart from the main venue Lviv Danylo Halytskyi International Airport, events of Lviv Fashion Week take place at various locations of downtown Lviv to attract the attention of international guests and Lviv citizens to Lviv’s landmarks. So far the official pages of Lviv Fashion Week advised Ukrainian fashionistas to save the date, and the detailed program, as well as the list of participants, will be announced soon.

Apart from the grand shows and defiles, local shops and shopping centers regularly organize cocktail parties and art shows that involve the brightest personas of Ukrainian fashion.
