VeloVektor bicycle community in Odesa organizes a charity bike day. On December 23, all dwellers of Odesa are welcome to participate in the event to help children in need. From December 5 to December 22, locals are encouraged to bring sacks with sweets, cookies and small presents to the main office of VeloVektor (24/7) and bicycle cafe Tour de France (7 A.M. - 10 P.M.). The sacks with presents refer to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of kids, whose day Ukrainians traditionally celebrate on December 19.
On December 23 at 11.30, cyclists will gather by the Duke de Richelieu monument to prepare for the cycling event. Participants are encouraged to dress up like Saint Nicholas and his assistants like angels and elves - or simply put on the red Santa hat.
