TUCC was founded 15 years ago with 2 principal objectives: one was to have a true review of the quality of the cuisine and service at Kiev's leading restaurants and the second was to show the world the standards being achieved in Kiev's gastronomic culture today.
Many years ago there were perhaps about a dozen high quality restaurants in Kiev and today there are probably over a hundred of them offering a huge variety of cuisines from around the world. TUCC will try to test out as many of them as possible. So if you enjoy good cuisine, wine and company - join us.
On 25th of May TUCC returned to Concord restaurant after fourteen months’ break.
The club had planned to launch summer program with dinner on the beautiful Concord terrace overlooking the city centre but the May weather was against this as it was raining with chilly wind. So the members of the club sat inside but with the windows fixed wide open. It felt like outside but without the inclement weather. It had been many years since TUCC had visited 5* Concord. And now the club was here again.
Twenty four diners were treated to a gourmet dinner especially prepared for TUCC:
*Carpaccio of octopus served with Costamolino Vermentino di Sardegna
*Prawns stuffed with salmon served with Iselis Bianco Isola dei Nuraghi with which everyone was very impressed so that cameras came out for pictures of the wine's label.*Escalope di Limon: an old favorite that has disappeared from the current Italian restaurants of Kiev and brought back by Concord. Served with Perdera Monica di Sardegna.
Another lovely wine that got cameras flashing again.
*Delicate Spanish “Siruela” cake of meringue with prunes served with Monte Croce Passito Bianco. A very tasty dessert but that several found a little heavy at the end of the dinner. Finally your coffee of choice with complementary hookah if you wished.
It was nice time in a cozy atmosphere of old friends enjoying the dinner in Concord restaurant again.
What a great evening and wonderful start to TUCC's new season.
