To start with the good news, the announced price rise for all train tickets scheduled for the beginning of April has been postponed by Ukrainian Railways Ukrzailznytsia. To freshen up the information, the new tariff included raising price by 25% in total in 2018.
Expecting tourist boom on May holidays, Ukrainian Railways announced additional trains to 7 popular travel routes in Ukraine: Kyiv — Lviv, Kyiv — Kovel, Kyiv — Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv — Odesa, Lviv — Odesa, Lviv — Dnipro, and Kostiantynivka — Odesa. All additional trains will operate from April 28 to May 1, which marks the first period of May holidays in Ukraine.

The popular train route Baku — Kharkiv is now prolonged to Kyiv. Starting April 21, the renewed route will be launched from Baku, while Kyiv will join on April 23. The trains will operate on Saturdays and Mondays accordingly.
As for the new train directions, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine announced a low-cost route Kyiv — Minsk — Vilnius — Riga. Passengers headed for the new destination will enjoy the new train cars, as well as a pleasant ticket price — 59 euro. The train is expected to leave Kyiv at 3 P.M. and arrive in Riga at 6 in the morning. The launch date is yet to be announced.

Apart from the newly bought train cars, Ukrainian Railways conducted repair works in 29 train cars that already function in regular routes as the first and second-class seats. The repaired cars now boast of the new interior and windows, as well as the modern air-conditioning system. According to the Ukrzailznytsia Acting Chairman of Management Board Yevgen Kravtsov, the company plans to renew almost half of the operating trains.
Finally, a full-course menu will be introduced on night trains. Ukrainian Railways will implement the new feature in 2-3 trains in a test mode, and soon all passengers of night trains will be able to order dishes online beforehand or during the trip.
