Ukraine as a Leader of Paris Design Week

Paris Design Week runs on September 8-16, 2017, coinciding with the Maison & Objet furniture fair.

An extension of the MAISON & OBJET trade fair, Paris Design Week provides an international platform for young and emerging design talent. Organised across Paris and comprising over 180 venues, including some of the city’s premier exhibition spaces (art galleries, museums and cultural institutes, like La Maison Rouge, 104 and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature) as well as concept stores and even hotels and restaurants, the week-long design ‘itinerary’ is free of charge, inviting the public to discover the year’s newest collections and prototypes. Taking a broad-based view of design, the show features everything from furniture and home décor to fashion, art and even gastronomy.

This year the design team from Ukraine will present the project "Transformation" at two locations: Les Docks, Cité de la Mode et du Design and Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Paris (22 Avenue de Messine).

Each year the design changes the surface of objects and strives for its outstanding appearance, or, on the contrary, tends to simplify and tries to find the perfect form that is free of redundancy.
The purpose of the exposition is to demonstrate the ability of objects to transform space and consciousness. There are objects that have a transformation function. Exhibits may be for the specific domestic use or be just accessories that create and transform the atmosphere in which people not only exist and operate but "live" and feel all the colours of material and spiritual life.
