International Restaurant and Bar Design Awards covers every imaginable space, from ships to airports, museums to burger vans, and from revered Michelin-starred establishments to the fleeting dynamism of pop-ups.
The Awards attract the world’s top designers, hospitality operators and judges from the UK and globally. Recent names include Zaha Hadid, Kengo Kuma, Foster & Partners, Stephen Alden, Gordon Ramsay, Tony Chambers (Editor in Chief, Wallpaper*), Alberto Alessi, Thomas Heatherwick and many more.
In 2017 many Ukrainian restaurants and bars could be seen among applicants of Restaurant and Bar Design Awards. However, only four managed to get to the shortlist of the competition. These are 3 restaurants from Kyiv and one restaurant from Poltava.

BAO (Kyiv, Ukraine) YOD Design Lab
BAO • Modern Chinese Cuisine is Ukraine's first Chinese restaurant with modern cuisine where powerful energy of the world's major cities is concentrated.
Barvy (Kiev, Ukraine) 2B.group
BARVY is the new addition to the local restaurant scene, which introduces the modern Ukrainian cuisine based on traditional recipes of various regions and ethnic groups of Ukraine as well as a fresh and interesting take on folk design and architecture.
Gra Z Vognem (Kyiv, Ukraine) Studio Belenko
Gra z vognem is a restaurant of new Ukrainian cuisine from high-quality local products. The restaurant confirms: modern Ukrainian cuisine is new and delicious; it is an ideal combination of the best local products, endless imagination and gastronomic experiments.
Shade Burger (Poltava, Ukraine) YOD Design Lab
"Shade cafe" offers you to plunge into the world of meat and wine. As in the interior so in their menu, you can find all the shades of aesthetic and gastronomic taste.
The Awards ceremony will be held at London's King's Cross on the 5th October 2017.
