The rise of vegetarian cuisine hasn't omitted Ukraine: each month renowned restaurants add meat-free positions on the menu appear as well as new spots that offer vegan food open even more frequently. One of the Kyiv pioneers, Orang+Utan bar, has gained massive popularity for its unusual menu and interior, noted by the German creative agency Gestalten.

Orang+Utan cafe takes vegetarian food to a new level: thanks to the abundance of unique fillings, the stereotype that healthy food is only bland and boring has been successfully ruined. Here you will find the usual menu items - sandwiches, soups, smoothies - with the most unusual fillings.

Sandwiches take up the most part: more than 10 flavors up to the most exquisite taste. The bar staff patiently explains the taste of all unfamiliar elements: for instance, seitan, or wheat gluten, which is one of the most popular fillings here. There are tips to try smoke + nori wrap sandwich: nori leaves, fried Indian cheese paneer, smoked Georgian suluguni cheese, cucumber and iceberg salad with a ginger sauce and mayonnaise.

Due to its unique minimalistic interior, Orang+Utan has become a popular Instagram location: the all-white tile of the main bar hall and a wild abundance of plants near the wash-hand basin. Purple light perfectly reflects on the while tiles, creating a mysterious vibe.
