A new Indian cafe with authentic cuisine and delicious cocktails has recently opened its doors in the very heart of historical Kyiv. The dining spot, officially opened on May 12, is owned by 25-year old Yashvi Tripathi, who is already well-known for his Himalayas restaurant. Interior design of the café impresses with warm yellow and green colors, hand-paintings, smooth light and live plants in every corner. Right at the entrance visitors will find a special insta-place with elephant-headed Hindu god Ganesha painted on the wall. Guests may take seats by the bar or in the main hall at the tables with comfortable chairs.

Balu café menu, developed by Yashvi Tripathi and Jot Singh – the chef of Himalayas restaurant, includes traditional dishes of Indian cuisine. The main focus is made on culinary miracles from north and central India. The menu is divided into several sections: main courses, salads, snacks, soups and desserts. Guests of Balu café are welcome to order delicious dishes such as paneer with nut and tomato sauce; paneer salad with mango sauce; paneer in soy and tomato sauce with vegetables; chickpea salad; chicken with curry sauce and rice; mushroom soup with onions, garlic and garam masala; vegetable balls made of cauliflower, carrot and potatoes with soy and tomato sauce; milk balls and other. The main courses are served with Basmati rice, delivered together with spices from Indian region Madhya Pradesh.

Currently, the laconic menu of the freshly-opened café includes 11 dishes. The owners promise to add other positions such as new desserts, tomato soup and flat cakes in the nearest time.
As for drinks, Balu offers interesting cocktails with special Eastern flavor, coffee and natural lemonades. It is recommended to taste jasmine sour, “New Deli Breakfast” with rum and mango, “Holy Cow” based on rum, cream and ginger syrup.
