The ensemble, consisting of five musicians, was founded in the famous ‘Schola Cantorum Basiliensis’ Academy of Ancient Music in Basel, Switzerland. The ensemble virtuosity plays classic instruments of Classicisme era and passes the vocals sound and feeling as during the époque of Louis XIV, known as the Sun King, and Louis XV reign.
In Kiev Schola Cantorum Basiliensis will perform the selected works by composers from the period of French music prosperity: Jean-Marie Leclair, Marin Marais, Thomas-Louis Bourgeois, François Couperin, Michel Lambert, Jean-Philippe Rameau and Marc-Antoine Charpentier.
‘Perles du Classicisme Français’ Concert in Kiev will take place on March 22, 2016 at 7pm as a special event within the Francophone Week in Ukraine.
