Jack Russell Terrier Parade in Kyiv

Jack Russell Terrier Parade in Kyiv

Jack Russell terriers have been getting plenty of attention lately, thanks to a scene-stealing pooch named Uggie, who starred in Oscar-nominated film “The Artist” as well as “Water for Elephants» and the iconic comedy «Mask». On June 11th, 2017 Kyiv is getting ready to host the first ever in Ukraine Jack Russell Terrier Parade.

An avid huntsman named the Rev. John Russell is credited with introducing this pint-size breed to southern England during the mid-1800s. The tenacious terriers built a reputation for their ability to prolong hunts by fearlessly flushing foxes out of their underground dens. In the United States, working versions of the breed are referred to as Jack Russell terriers, which includes a range of body types. Purebred show dogs that will make the rounds at Westminster are officially called Parson Russell terriers.

The event is dedicated to all the enthusiasts of this popular and precocious breed. Dress up your pet and yourself and join this fun and entertaining parade that will start near Ukrainian House on 2, Khreshchatyk street and will proceed along Maydan Nazalezhnosti and Khreshchatyk street to TSUM and back to Ukrainian House. The parade will be headed by professional salsa dancers and musicians.
