Ukrainian Fashion Day debutes in Zurich

Ukrainian designers present authentic costumes and exclusive fashion collections For the first time in Zurich there will be a grand event - Ukrainian Fashion Day.

The Swiss and Zurich guests will be able to touch high fashion of modern Ukraine, open national traditions and centuries-old history of our country. It is a unique opportunity to feel the affinity of Ukrainian and European values and aspirations, to appreciate the skills of Ukrainian designers, as well as to start close Ukrainian-Swiss cooperation in the fashion field.

The Ukrainian Fashion Day will take place in one of the most beautiful buildings in Zurich - the Zunfthaus Zur Meisen. The unique atmosphere of the historic halls of the building will contribute to the perception of Ukraine as an ancient cultural part of Europe, as a country that shares European values and strives for a high standard of living.

For the first time, leading Ukrainian manufacturers will present their work to the Swiss business community, which will undoubtedly see the benefits of further cooperation with Ukrainian colleagues. For many years, Ukrainian clothing has been characterised by high quality and attractive pricing for exporters and distributors from all over Europe.

During Ukrainian Fashion Day on 28 February, the public will see a fashion show: authentic costumes of different Ukrainian regions, representing our history, culture and traditions; collections from modern Ukrainian designers - a demonstration of high quality fashionable outfits; and finally a children's collection, symbolising our future!

More than 125 participants with extensive international experience in the fashion industry will take part in the event, including highly skilled image makers, make-up artists, hairdressers and models.


As for the music and atmosphere of Ukrainian Fashion Day - famous Ukrainian jazz musicians will perform for the guests. The pianist, composer and virtuoso, a wonderful interpreter of classical music, Pavel Ignatiev, will play the author's music on the borderline between classics and jazz, creating a completely stunning musical environment. Together with him, the leading vocalist JT Fresh Band and Big Band of the National Academy of Brass Orchestras, a participant in many international jazz festivals, who sings in jazz music animations of Walt Disney, Katiko Purceladze.

Another musical guest of Ukrainian Fashion Day is Mike Kaufman-Portnikov virtuoso, a master of many jazz styles, Royalman, composer, two-time Ukrainian record holder in art nominations, brand ambassador of Ukraine in cultural matters and an expert of improvisation and magic in music. 88 piano keys serve to express his life's mission.

The Ukrainian choir "Perepiv", already known to many Swiss, will surprise the audience with their authentic Ukrainian singing. The choir's musicians continue to popularise and spread Ukrainian music of all periods and styles throughout the world.

In addition to promoting national culture, Ukrainian Fashion Day has a noble mission - all funds raised from ticket sales will be used to provide humanitarian aid to the most affected regions of Ukraine. In order to raise a significant amount of money to support Ukraine, a charity auction will be held with valuable lots. These include paintings by famous Ukrainian artists, Azovstal lots and jewellery. Destinations.ua present "The Ghost of Kiev" painting. It represents the courage and sacrifice of Ukraine's valiant pilots who put their lives on the line to protect Ukrainian sky. The paiting draws inspiration from the famous mural in Kyiv, which stands as a symbol of Ukraine's resilience and the strength of its people. The painting will be auctioned as well.

The event is being held on the initiative of Ukrainian women who found shelter in Switzerland as a result of the war, under the auspices of the World Ukraine Cooperation Society and with the support of the Swiss Ukrainian Society. The team wants to draw the attention of the Swiss to the national costumes and the cultural and historical heritage of Ukraine.
