daKooka: Live Electronic Music in Sergey Makhno Gallery

The electronic indie-pop musician has been compared to La Roux і Florence and the Machine, yet the young Ukrainian artist daKooka astonishes with her own unique style. On April 13, halls of Segrey Makhno gallery will be filled with live beats and charming melodies, becoming the first of the three upcoming events of “The Black Black Sea” art exhibition.

“The Black Black Sea” project is the first event to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Sergey Makhno Architects design studios. A duo of architect Sergey Makhno and painter Roman Mykhaylov takes visitors into the delightful world of contemporary art, where each object is pitch black. Apart from the exhibition itself, three more events, revolving around the theme of the Black Sea and black color, will take place in the span of two weeks. One of them is a live concert of electro musician daKooka.

Songs by daKooka are like sea waves that lure in and won’t let go — maybe that’s why the singer fits so well in the theme of the exhibition. An artist of many talents, daKooka is both a DJ and solo performer of indie rock. Throughout her career, she has already performed at such well-known music fests like Koktebel Jazz Festival, ГОГОЛЬFEST, and Global Gathering. This April, she will grace the halls of Sergey Makhno Gallery to charm the visitors with lulling vocal and rich sound.
