The New Translation of the Ukrainian ‘Skrynia’ Art Book in Kyiv

On April 11, francophones and francophiles residing in Kyiv will have an opportunity to visit a special presentation, dedicated to the French translation of the renowned Ukrainian art book ‘Skrynia’. The printed work has been recently presented in the Salon Livre Paris and now will be introduced in Kyiv’s It's NOT the LOUVR gallery bar featuring the special guest of the night, a Ukrainian singer Katya Chilly.

Right on time with the French Spring festival in Ukraine, a cozy gallery bar It's NOT the LOUVR located not far from Zoloti Vorota metro station hosts another francophone event — a presentation of the Ukrainian culture art book ‘Skrynia’, which literally means a ‘dower chest’. Skrynias were largely used in all regions of Ukraine to store the most valuable possessions like jewels and ceremonial attire. Surprisingly, the tradition still stays strong even nowadays.
