New Dining Spots to Visit in Kyiv September 2018 Digest

Delicious food on a stylish plate and white wine

Despite the ever-changing weather, nothing can stop those who aim high. This concerns exploring the capital’s food scene as well — while the cold hasn’t hit yet, it’s a great chance to visit city food courts, try African food, corndogs and burgers for 1€ from Dima Borisov.

Lviv Rebernia

BBQ ribs and cocktailWhile the new spot has nothing to do with the famous Lviv restaurants Under Arsenal from !FEST holding, both of them share the same love for the BBQ ribs. Lvivska Rebernia is based on the principle of comfort food - traditional and well-known meals that rise a wave of pleasant emotions.

As the name in Ukrainian suggests, ribs are the specialty in this place. The dish is prepared from veal, mutton or pork and served in numerous ways, for instance with baked corn, cherry tomatoes and asparagus. The chef has his special recipe for marinating. The restaurant will update the menu every three months.

Address: 2, Pavla Tychyny Avenue

The famous Kyiv restaurateur Dima Borisov strikes again with the opening of one more cheap & delicious food spot. The new restaurant located conveniently on the food court in Globus shopping center is called Dogz&Burgerz - and that's exactly what the label says. You will find a quite simple menu: two types of burgers, two types of hot dogs, two types of pie and oysters with lemon.

Good news for vegetarians, hot-dog comes in a vega option as well. The drinks are provided by Bilyi Nalyv and include apple cider, nalyvka, punch, lemonade and sparkling or still water. Traditionally, the prices don't go higher than 1€ - burgers will cost UAH 39 while hot-dogs and drinks come at the price of UAH 29.

Address: 1, Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Globus food court)

Pashtet

Delicious food and drinkThe list of 24/7 fine dining spots now has one more item - Pashtet, which means pâté, located in the heart of the city on Khreshchatyk. The new location will be interesting for those who prefer healthy food and enjoy the taste over quantity. Pâté of three types, namely chicken liver, beef with figs, and turkey, is served with ciabatta and berry sauce. There are separate sections for pasta, soups, and salads. Besides, breakfasts here are served all day long and in case you order until 11 A.M., you get a complimentary coffee, tea or freshly squeezed juice.

Khreschatyk Food Fest opened merely a month ago but it continues to expand and present more and more spots to indulge in delicious food. The story is simple - enthusiasts from KyivProject architecture company decided to open a regular-working food court on their premises located on Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street. The inner court has a fountain and simply asks for staying a bit longer to chill out amid the city center. The list of food includes but isn’t limited to burgers, fries, hot-dogs, Panini, ice cream, Georgian Khachapuri and Khinkali as well as tacos.

One of the newcomers of the fest ЦЕ (Tse) Burger, which offers a set of burger, fries and a drink of choice for UAH 100. Vegans might be interested in this stall as Vegan burger with potato pancakes. Another notable mention is Yummy dogs co-founded by the owner of True Burger Bar and Hendrick's Bar Serhii Lazarev. City Lunch UA Food Hall

City Lunch UA is, essentially, an indoors continuation of the Khreshchatyk Food Fest reserved for the days with bad weather - and more spots with delicious treats. Thus, the indoors food court gathered everything from the familiar pizza and desserts to the more exotic Thai and African food. Afro Food cafe introduces dwellers of the capital to African food, barely represented in Kyiv: you can try Allocco - a popular snack made from fried plantain, chicken or fish, served with a special sauce. The combination makes it spicy, sweet and sour at the same time.

Khu Yum sells a Thai dish already familiar to many foodies: spring rolls, while Mr. Butcher offers juicy grill rissole. Vegans can find a company in the "Nikogo ne em" ("I don't eat anyone") fast food. The menu has the usual items like burgers, hot-dogs, salads but the traditional ingredients are replaced with tofu, seitan and chickpea.
