Boat excursions on Dnipro are one of the most popular ways to spend summer time in Kyiv. Even those who are familiar with the route often board the ship to look at the magnificent scenery once more. Boats navigate daily from Pier 7, 8 and 10 from Kyiv River Port, located right near the Poshtova Ploshcha station. The tours are operated by "Riverrest" company and "River Passenger Excursion Bureau" company. Each excursion is tailored to suit different needs of the passengers from families to party lovers.
Kyiv Panorama
Sure enough, the start of the new cruise season brought back the classics — the famous 1-hour ‘Kyiv Panorama’ excursion is available again. The route starts from Kyiv Port, goes all the way along the Naberezhne highway until the Paton Bridge and all the way back. The seemingly short excursion shows the beauties of the Dnipro bank: Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, Saint Michael’s Monastery, the Saint Volodymyr’s monument peeking from the bushy trees and the grand Motherland monument. The ticket price is UAH 180 on Sat-Sun and holidays, and UAH 150 on other weekdays. Kids up to the age of 6 have a free pass and those aged from 6 to 12 have a 50% discount.
Disco
The ‘Disco’ cruise is a perfect option for those who want to let their hair down, dance, and find a moment of solace with a glass of wine to enjoy the night view on Kyiv. The excursion has the same route like Kyiv Panorama but is more concentrated on the onboard entertainment. ‘Disco’ is launched from 8 P.M. to 11 P.M. daily and costs UAH 250 on Sat-Sun and holidays, and UAH 200 on other weekdays.
The Mouth of Desna
One of the most popular long cruises ‘The Mouth of Desna’ is back this season. This excursion might interest those who have already seen it all on the Dnipro but haven’t explored other waters that surround the capital: the two-hour ride on the 1130-kilometer river will show the natural wonders and picturesque panoramas of the Kyiv region. The cruise is available on weekends and holidays from 12 P.M. to 6 P.M. The ticket is UAH 270 for a 12 P.M. cruise and UAH 300 for others. Kids up to the age of 6 have a free pass and those aged from 6 to 12 have a 50% discount.
Kids' Program Aboard
Naturally, it’s only fair to launch a children-friendly program — ‘Aboard’ excursion departs on 10 A.M. on weekends and introduces kids of all ages to the laws of the sea and the life of pirates. The one-hour cruise costs UAH 150 and is free for kids up to the age of 4.
The Kyiv Sea
One of the longest cruises ‘The Kyiv Sea’ offers an incredible journey from Kyiv Port along the Rybalsky Island and Obolon to the far destination — the Kyiv Sea. Often unseen by locals and tourists, this vast artificial water source is nevertheless of the most beautiful places near Kyiv to visit on weekends. Moreover, the Kyiv Sea dam is the longest in the world, so it’s a nice chance to see a record-breaker in real life. The three-hour cruise is available on weekends on 1 P.M, 3 P.M and 5 P.M. The ticket costs UAH 400. Kids up to the age of 6 have a free pass and those aged from 6 to 12 have a 50% discount.
Mezhyhirya
Finally, the longest 7-hour route lies to Mezhyhirya, the former private residence of V. Yanukovych. The former property of the fourth president of Ukraine has various attractions on its vast territory, including a zoo and a bike rental. The boat departs on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 A.M. Embarkation begins at 10 A.M. The price of tickets that may be purchased on boat is UAH 300 and UAH 150 for children under 14 years. The boat arrives in Mezhyhirya at 1 P.M. Entrance fee is UAH 50 per person. Embarkation and departure back to Kyiv are at 4 PM. The boat returns at the pier 7 at 6 PM.
The tickets can be bought at Kyiv Port.
