The most of us are already busy with preparations to holidays trying to catch up with the last work deadlines of the year. However, everyone deserves a little break to enjoy some inspiring art vibes. Let`s find out which art exhibitions in Kyiv are worth visiting in the end of December 2018.

“On this field, blue…”. Paintings by Anatoliy Kryvolap

Anatoliy Kryvolap is at the top of the most successful Ukrainian painters list. During the period from 2010 till 2015, he sold 18 works on foreign and Ukrainian auctions for the total sum of approximately USD 800 000. The current exhibition of Kryvolap in Kyiv presents well-known as well as new works of the artist. In the art of Anatoliy Kryvolap, Ukrainian nature is reflected as a multivalued aesthetic space filled with life force, dramatic tension and endless energy. Horse is a key symbol of the exhibition as an ancient symbol of freedom, speed and natural cycles. “On this field, blue…” exhibition is made as a “poetic project” that harmonically unites paintings of Anatoliy Kryvolap, lyrics of Ukrainian poets and videos with Ukrainian nature.

PictoricBox

The authors of art & game PictoricBox project will present 100 unique illustrations. The small copies of this illustrations became the base of a similarly-named board game. Each PictoricBox artwork can be compared to an open code in a software, where the content is created by a viewer. Bright detailed illustrations and variety of styles make a comprehensive and exciting exposition. To help visitors dive into PictoricBox world, the exhibition hall will have a special PictoricBox Play Zone, where everyone interested will have a chance to play the new board game.

Avant-garde: in the Search for the Fourth Dimension

The name of this exposition hints at the ambitious ideas of avant-garde to go beyond the limits of the visible three-dimensional world. M17 art center will turn into a world of revolutionary hopes with agitation posters, architectural utopias, revelation of manifestos, supramatist and abstract painting, propaganda cinema and new literature. Ukraine will be shown as a “crossing point” of art innovations of the first part of the XX century, when different art centers (Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa etc.) gave birth to the phenomena of Ukrainian avant-garde. The project presents works of avant-garde painters from museum and private collections. The list of painters includes Bogomazov, Yernilov, Rodchenko and other. Apart from paintings, the exposition presents audio and visual show from Front Pictures group.

Doll Wonder

The second international exhibition of signature dolls and paintings will take place in Kyiv City History Museum. The main focus of the exhibition is made on elegant signature dolls and their creators. The list of participants includes 8 Ukrainian and 1 Polish masters. The visitors will see various dolls made by Tamara Pivniuk, Julia Volodarska, Kateryna Kalynina, Olena Korosteliova, Valeria Bondarenko, Anastasia Katsan, Renata Golashevska-Adamchyk along with beautiful paintings by Kateryna Kosyanenko and Sergiy Pivniuk.
