Oresteia
The Kyiv Academic Drama Theater at Podil and Misanthrope independent theater will offer a special project that will unite the latest trends in the field of computer technology and unique scenic opportunities for the theater. Modern technology will meet a modern public to create a new myth called Oresteia. The Oresteia refers to the Greek tragedy trilogy written by Aeschylus. It revolves around the themes of justice, revenge and interaction between the Greek Gods.

Goliath
This winter, the independent theater "Misanthrope" together with TELEPORT360 will premiere the "Goliath" - the first play in Ukraine staged on the basis of a comic book, a graphic novel by the world-famous illustrator Tom Gauld. Instead of a stage, the action will take place in a real pool right in front of the audience.
The content of the story will be told through special technologies - the projection of the text on the water will become a nod to a comics book, where all thoughts and speech of the characters appear in bubbles. All spectators will receive raincoats at the entrance to be protected from splashes.

ХI New Year Strauss Concert
The National Opera of Ukraine offers to indulge in the festive atmosphere of New Year celebrations with the Strauss family. The pieces by Johann Strauss I, Johann Strauss II and Josef Strauss were carried through the centuries and are familiar to many as long-forgotten childhood melodies.
"The Blue Danube Waltz", "Die Fledermaus" Overture, "Radetzky March" and other pieces by the Strauss family will be brought by Kyiv-Classic Symphony Orchestra. The author of the project is UNESCO Artist for Peace, the People's Artist of Ukraine, Ambassador of Ukrainian Culture - Herman Makarenko.

A Space of One's Own exhibition
A Space of One's Own is one of the current exhibitions showcased in the Pinchuk Art Centre. The group exhibition of Ukrainian artists is an attempt to view the history of Ukrainian art through the women's prism. The title of the exhibition actually resembles the fundamental work by Virginia Woolf - A Room of One's Own. Wolf was among the first who questioned and challenged the role of women in the "men's" world. The Ukrainian artists try to find an answer through different historical decades and techniques - Soviet propaganda posters, folk art, photography and much more.

Odesa
Stained glass art exhibition
This month, Muza Art Gallery located in downtown Odesa on 19, Yevreiska Street hosts an exhibition of stained glass. The works by Oleksandra Slaboshpitskaia are full of bright colors and depict lyric landscapes, animals and nature. On December 9 at 1 P.M., the artist will hold a workshop on stained glass art, where she will share tips and secrets of the trade.

Logan Richardson & Blues People
The XVIII International Jazz Festival 'Jazz Bez' will reach Odesa in December. The festival will include 6 concerts of various styles from blues and fusion to urban jazz. In Odesa, Jazz Bez will be opened by the concert of Logan Richardson & Blues People band.
The Kansas-native Logan Richardson has studied music in Boston and New York, and at the age of 21 already had a chance to record and tour with masters like Joe Chambers, Ambrose Akinmusire, Butch Morris, Stefon Harris and others. Logan is a bandleader of Blues People and has recently recorded a fresh album full of the 1980s references.

L'elisir d'amore
L'elisir d'amore is one of the most famous operas written by the Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti. Back in the 19th century, it gained instant success and was the most often performed opera in Italy during 1838-1848. Nowadays, it's just as popular in Ukraine.
The Elixir of Love is a comedy that takes place in the 19th-century Spain. A small village witnesses the love triangle between the rich Adina, the poor Nemorino and sergeant Belcore, who wants to marry Adina. Nemorino is so hopelessly in love with Adina that he buys an 'Elixir of Love' sold by the traveling purveyor of medicines. Little does he know, the elixir is merely cheap wine.

Leoband Orchestra. White Christmas
Right before the Saint Nicholas Day, Leoband orchestra presents the traditional White Christmas program. The band will perform worldwide hits from various decades: Let It Snow by Frank Sinatra, Happy New Year by ABBA, Last Christmas by Wham!, All I want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey and many others. Besides, the concert program also includes the iconic classic pieces - music from The Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Carol of The Bells, which was based on a Ukrainian folk song Shchedryk traditionally performed on Christmas.

Ukrainian Vyshyvanka: Olena and Olha Kulchytska Collection
The traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirt, vyshyvanka, is often considered a work of art. From region to region, the colors and motifs that appear on vyshyvanka differ and have deep sociological context. Olena Kulchytska Art Memorial Museum hosts an exhibition of vyshyvanka's collected by the artist herself. The artifacts include embroidered shirts from different regions of western Ukraine, as well as watercolors and photographs of Ukrainians' livelihood.

The Swan Lake
One of the most famous ballets, Swan Lake, is the classic love story between Prince Siegfried and the Swan Princess Odette divided by the villainous sorcerer Rothbart in a story where true love conquers all. That four-act masterpiece is often considered the most iconic work by Petro Tchaikovsky.
It is curious that the first showing was a total flop, criticized by the press. However, Swan Lake is far from being forgotten – almost 200 years later, it is a classical ballet included in repertoires of the most renown operas and theaters of the world.
