Treasures of Tibet

This exposition shows more than 500 pieces of art from Tibet, Nepal, India, Bhutan and other countries. Here you will see sophisticated statues, Buddhist paintings, temple musical instruments, ritual objects from Buddhist monasteries, household items and national clothes of Asian people. Many exhibited items have not just cultural, but also historical value – these artworks were used in spiritual practices or as decorations of temples and churches. Besides, the program of the event includes workshops, lectures and special classes with masters to help visitors dive deeper into the world of Eastern culture.

Exhibition of Volodymr Naumets Works from Odesa Collections

Volodymyr Naumets is a non-conformist Ukrainian painter; he started his art career in 1960s. In 1980s, he moved to Germany. Since then, he has been living in Cologne, regularly visiting his homeland – Ukraine. Volodymyr Naumets took part in large Ukrainian exhibition projects such as “Cutting Smoke” (Odesa Modern Art Museum, 2012), “Prosvit” (Khudpromo gallery, Odesa, 2012), Art Kyiv Contemporary (Mystetskiy Arsenal, 2012). The works of Volodymyr are included to the collections of Zimmerli Museum (the USA), Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien (Vienna, Austria), Museum Ludwig (Cologne, Germany), Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art (San-Marino), and to many private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Germany and other countries.

“Chronicles of Future Races” by Vadym Bondero

Vadym Bondero, a well-known artist from Odesa, has presented his new exhibition called “Chronicles of Future Races” as a separate project in frame of the IX Odesa International Film Festival. In this exposition, the author tries to analyze contradictions and dynamic movement of our world by the measures of metamodernism. Bondero uses different art styles such as socialist realism, Soviet avant-garde, American pop art, minimalism and post-conceptualism. The main purpose of the project is to find balance with naïve ideological position of modern and ironical aspects of postmodernism. “Chronicles of Future Races” creates the picture of humanity future by mixing various images, senses and their cultural transgression.

“Pain and Piece of Land” Exhibition by Hamlet Zinkovsky

Hamlet Zinkovskiy is a Ukrainian artist, well-known for his street art works in Kharkiv and other cities. On August 4, 2018, his new exhibition called “Pain and Piece of Land” will be opened in Odesa. The exhibition consists of two separate projects. “Pain” is a series of illustrations to the book of modern German philosopher Reinhard Knodt “Pain. Philosophic and poetic miniatures”. The author of the book translation, Sergiy Dimitrov, says: “Knodt offers to see philosophy through “poetical” prism, to not avoid pain like something completely negative, but to consider it as a fundamental signal, impulse for finding balance”. The book will be presented on the exhibition official opening on August 4. “Piece of Land” is a story of one family during 100 years. It shows their piece of land, where they are born, where they grow up, live and die. The project is implemented jointly with Kharkiv municipal gallery.
