Christmas market on Rynok Square
Lviv traditionally will start celebrating winter holidays at the beginning of December. The Christmas markets on Rynok Square and Svobody Avenue started working on December 7. The markets will work every day from 11 A.M. to 10 P.M. on Mon-Fri and from 10 A.M. to 11 P.M. on weekends and holidays. Guests can enjoy mulled wine and strudel, stock on Christmas gifts and numerous handmade Ukrainian trinkets. 
The Christmas tree in Lviv will be traditionally placed on the square in front of Lviv Opera House. The 20-meter tree given to the city of Lviv by Buda village will be illuminated by numerous lights and decorated with shiny toys. In 2018-2019, Rynok Square market will also welcome guests on the ice rink located right behind the Town Hall. It will work until March 15 and will be opened daily from 10 A.M. until 10 P.M. The rink on Rynok Square is especially magical at night, surrounded by Christmas market stalls with soft lights. 
Balconies of Lviv Town Hall on Rynok Square will channel Christmas music on December 30, and on the night of December 31, Lviv Opera House will become an art-installation - video mapping will be projected on the building's façade. The art event will be accompanied by live music by Lirwak band.
Concerts and parties
As Tvoemisto reports, there will be several concerts and parties in various Lviv spots to celebrate New Year 2019: From December 25 to January 9, Museina Square will host numerous concerts, art exhibitions and folk shows dedicated to Ukrainian Christmas. The square is one of the most famous spots in downtown Lviv thanks to its close location to the Dominican Cathedral.
On December 28, Svobody Avenue will turn into a festive location: 'Lviv fanfaronade' brass band will give a live music concert while Svitoch confectionary manufacturer will treat the guests with sweets. On December 29, Lviv Academic spiritual theater "Resurrection" will host a free show by the Christmas tree near Lviv Opera House.
Finally, on the last day of the year, Radio Lux FM invites everyone for a New Year party in Bohdan Khmelnytskyi park. The party will start at 10 P.M. and will last until 4 in the morning of January 1.
Celebrations in Lviv Art Palace
This holiday season, Lviv Art Palace will host a grand winter festival "Winter Festivities: From Roman to Ivan". The festival will work from December 1 until January 20 and will include traditional Ukrainian folk celebrations. As for New Year celebration, it will take place from December 29 until January 1. The detailed program will be updated on the official Facebook event of the festival.
