The largest Ukrainian music festival has just come to an end, and those who were lucky to attend it are now full of unforgettable experiences and memories. Let`s recall the brightest moments of this great music event in 2018 and check out what to expect from the upcoming Atlas Weekend 2019.

For 6 days – from July 3 to July 8 – the National Expocenter of Ukraine in Kyiv has turned into a huge party platform. This year, the fest had around 448 000 visitors and more than 200 Ukrainian and foreign artists! A large percent of music fans came from the other cities and lived in festival tent camp so they had an opportunity to party non-stop.

For almost a week, all these people were listening to music of different genres on seven stages, tasting the best delicacies on large food courts, drinking delicious cocktails and just having as much fun as possible. Those who felt a bit tired from partying could relax in the apple trees garden in a cozy lounge zone. We must surely admit the good organization of this year`s festival: for example, payments for all food & drinks were by credit cards, so Atlas 2018 was actually a cash free zone. There were enough food spots, bars and other comforts for everyone, so that people did not have to stay in long lines. Of course, there were sometimes lines of people on the entrance, but the festival staff was working efficiently and guests could get in the festival territory rather quickly. Considering all above-mentioned, we have to say that Atlas Weekend can be called a festival that meet European quality standards.

And now – a little overview of Atlas Weekend 2018 music program.
The first day of the festival offered free entrance for everyone, so it was attended by 154 000 people. The guests enjoyed performances of Ukrainian artists and bands such as Monatik, Vopli Vidoplyasova, MOZGI and many other. Surprisingly, the headliner of the first day was the well-known Ukrainian pop singer Oleg Vinnyk. Oleg introduced his fans to the previously unknown side of his creativity, presenting a special rock program.

The second day of Atlas Weekend was a gift to those who love to dance: the day was headed by the eminent Netherlandish DJ Martin Garrix. The list of other notable bands and artists of this day includes Lost Frequencies, Skillet and Don Diablo.

The third day also delighted with shows of the famous European headliners. Indie-rock American singer of Italian origin, Laura Pergolizzi also known as LP, won people`s hearts with her brilliant voice performing Lost on You and other well-known hits. While metal fans were enjoying heavy sound of thrash metal band Kreator, lovers of alternative rock had the best time watching Nothing but Thieves performance.

Friday, the fourth day of Atlas 2018, brought fun for all those who love British musician Benjamin Clementine, Swiss indie rock sound of Kadebostany, rough electrocore of Eskimo Callboy and authentic vibes of Ukrainian ethno band Dakha Brakha.

The sixth day was an unforgettable pleasure for electro music fans. British duo The Chemical brothers deeply impressed listeners with an amazing performance uniting sophisticated electronic beats and exciting visual show.

Of course, the final sixth day became an apotheosis of the whole party. The main headliner, British rock legend Placebo, played their melancholic yet very beautiful songs, while the large crowd of fans was singing along. Meanwhile, those who prefer more energizing music enjoyed crazy dances and colorful visual effects at the performance of famous Israeli electronic project Infected Mushroom. And those who love the heaviest sound were getting the best impressions at the show of Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil.

As the conclusion, we must say that it is pleasant to see how professionalism of Atlas Weekend organizers grows with each festival, so we are looking forward to attending the next Atlas Weekend that will be held on July 8–14, 2019. Currently there is no information about the next year`s headliners. However, the early birds tickets are already on sale, and considering all the experience that we have about the previous Atlas Weekend festivals, one will not regret buying them right now. The tickets are available online on Atlas Weekend official webpage, at Atlas club desk and on special festival spots at the Expocenter of Ukraine.
