Cheese and Wine Festival in Potocki Palace
One of the main outdoor events of this autumn, Cheese & Wine Festival, will take place in the magnificent Potocki Palace. Guests of the festival will have a chance to explore the Ukrainian cheesemaking culture and, of course, taste fine local wine. The three days will be filled with numerous contests, live music and entertainment for the whole family. Every adult visitor gets a free cup of mulled wine with their ticket.
The main focus of the festival is the cheese & wine fair, where local manufacturers will present their production along the big-name brands. Visitors are also invited to participate in the culinary workshops.

Pay what you want in Lviv restaurants
On October 19-21, Lviv will host the first in Ukraine Biennale of Trust - a pioneer among the city festivals. The idea is that guests of selected restaurants will be able to pay what they want for the dish and service. More than 30 restaurants have already joined the initiative, including Kumpel Group, Bar Mushli, Khinkalnia, and others.
One of the most awaited events of the Biennale is the Breakfast of Trust. It will take place on Saturday at 12 A.M on Staroevreiska street. Local restaurants will place a common table outside and visitors will have a chance to chat, share food and drinks to feel the spirit of the old times.

New parking fees
While Kyiv implemented stricter fines for breaking the parking rules, Lviv has raised the parking fees, which sparked a discussion in the news and social media. The price differs depending on the location of the parking. Thus, parking in Zone 1, which covers downtown, will cost UAH 15 per hour. As for Zone 2, which covers the rest of the city, parking will cost UAH 5 per hour.
As for the parking passes, dwellers of Lviv can choose among a pass for a month (UAH 2700 for Zone 1, UAH 800 for Zone 2), three months (UAH 6500 for Zone 1, UAH 2000 for Zone 2) and four months (UAH 12000 for Zone 1, UAH 4500 for Zone 2). The new prices will be implemented starting from October 22.
You can buy the parking passes at parking lots on Valova Street and Lesi Ukrainky Street ('Vernissage' parking lot).
Lviv startups competition
The catalytic platform Seedstars World organizes competitions for small Lviv startups that want to accelerate their growth. According to the information, 10 best startups will compete to be shortlisted for the Seedstars Ukraine Finals. The jury will then select three winners that will present their projects during the Seedstars CEE Regional Summit, and the finalist will have a chance to take part in the Global Seedstars Summit. There, the winner is promised a reliable boot camp and investor forum to establish new business connections.

As for the historical and political news, on November 1, Lviv will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the announcement of the West Ukrainian People's Republic. The republic existed shortly from 1918 to 1919, yet its memory lives up to nowadays.
It's proved, among many things, by the future installing of the new sculpture on 40, Horodetska Street. The sculpture installed near the Lesia Ukrainka Theatre depicts a lion from the WUPR's coat of arms, and blocks of wild stone with a vine, which symbolize the blood shed by Ukrainian soldiers during the conflict.
Lviv Bandur Fest 2018
As a cultural center of Western Ukraine, Lviv supports all traditions from cuisine to music festivals. That's why the city hosts Lviv Bandur Fest - the festival of contemporary music performed on the traditional Ukrainian bandura. The festival will take place from November 7 to 11 in various spots of the city. To give an idea, Lviv Film Center will host two concerts on November 8 and 10, while bandurists and drummers will perform on the stage of the Lviv Philharmonic House on November 9.
