A new cat statue
In September we wrote about a cat statue that re-appeared in Odesa. The cat trend in street art seems to be quite strong: a new statue depicting a smiling cat holding a plate appeared in Shevchenko Park. The statue called Scythian was made by an Odesa native, artist Klim Stepanov. You can find the statue near the observation site of the park and even leave some coins on the cat's plate for luck.Non-stop Odesa - Bucharest flight
At the beginning of July, the Romanian Tarom airlines presented the new non-stop flight Odesa - Bucharest. Initially, the flight was supposed to be launched in August, but the company re-scheduled it for the end of October. The flight will operate starting from October 31. It will appear on the schedule three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The plane will leave at 4.15 A.M. and arrive in Bucharest in an hour. At the moment, the ticket price starts at 99 euros for a round-trip. Luggage up to 23 kilograms and meals are included in the cost.
Insomnia exhibition: Buddha and flamingos
Odesa House of Scientists hosts a new free exhibition of Odesa-based artists Irina Myahkaya and Irina Babichenko. Both of them have learned painting on various workshops and seek inspiration in different things: while one artist was moved by her trip to Thailand, which can be observed on the paintings of Buddha, the other draws inspiration from daily life, depicting typical Odesa city scenes. The exhibition is hosted in the Walnut Hall of the House of Scientists. The admission is free.Photo sources: Odessa-online, Dumskaya, shutterstock.com, unsplash.com.
