If you prefer less of a resort feel go skiing at Pylypets and Podobovets in the Zakarpattya Region, (check if they have snow first as they don’t have snow making machines yet). You’ll again find excellent ski areas there and the traditions of rural Ukraine can be had. Local villagers are willing to teach you how to weave carpets and home-made borsch. You’ll love the hospitality of this area and why not take a day off from skiing, go on a tour to see Ukraine’s Shypit waterfall or Lake Synevyr which is the highest mountain lake in Ukraine.
