«FIKA Swedish Coffee»

In Sweden, fika is a daily break, traditionally involving coffee and treats. Wrap your hands around a giant cup of Swedish tea – blends are very nice as well as their names: Stockholm South, Nordic Forest and Polaris – and settle in among the lemon-yellow cushions. It’s hard to pass by the cinnamon buns too – petite buttery scrolls rolled up with cinnamon sugar.

First thing you need to know about this place is that «Klein’s Bottle» is a real thing and not just one more fancy restaurant name. The Klein bottle was discovered in 1882 by German mathematician Felix Klein and is a one-sided surface - like the well-known Möbius band - but is even more fascinating, since it is closed and has no border and neither an enclosed interior nor exterior. Klein was also known for being a good cook and a foodie. «Klein’s Bottle» restaurant in Lviv is a quirky little place which reminds of a mathematician’s study room with all the shelves, drawers, books and flasks.

«Kufer» is one of the most recent additions to Lviv downtown vibrant gastro scene. This place is perfect for a quick lunch or a meet-up with friends. The interior reminds of many other Lviv places scattered around Rynok Square and is rather simple and pleasant. The menu offers a traditional list of Ukrainian and European cuisine dishes as well as lunch sets and a variety of local home made liqueurs («nalyvka») and digestifs («nastoyanka»). «Kufer» is hardly a place for a romantic date, however, it makes a perfect location for breakfast or lunch in a classical Lviv setting.
Address: 1, Krakivska street, Lviv.
