The architectural style of Reef restaurant can be an immediate indication of its Mediterranean theme. This expansive and spacious spot was designed by Spanish architect Alberto Foyo. Professor at Columbia University, Alberto Foyo studied architecture in Madrid, Spain and the University of Oregon, USA. His projects include residential developments in Spain and Florida, an agroforestry & permaculture center in the Amazon basin, residences in New York region and a master plan for Kiev.
Inspired by nautical theme and beautiful Mediterranean landscapes, this restaurant in Kiev downtown reminds a moored yar yacht. Reef’s interior design features rusty details, reminding the seasoned port docks and airy off-white and turquoise palette.
The visitors will feel the special atmosphere of the restaurant while entering the terrace. It looks fantastic with beech trees, lavender, hardy shrubs, olives and birches, carefully selected by Alberto Foyo himself. The terrace presents a Mediterranean scene complementing the restaurant's exterior design.

There is no doubt that Reef aims for a new level of gastro sophistication in Kiev. An open kitchen provides a glint of steel, fronted by the water-filled cases of gleaming whole oysters and lobsters. Everything is carefully chosen here — from custom locally made tableware to the stylish utensils. A pleasant touch is that each menu item has its special sign to guide the guests choosing the perfect wine, sauce and dessert pairing.
The food by Michelin schooled chef Alain Regnault is suitably elegant. The menu honors seafood with a note expressing chef’s sincerest appreciation to the following fish mongers who make it possible for the restaurant to serve the highest quality of seafood available worldwide.
