Kyiv Wine Festival

Apart from the well-known Ulichnaya Eda fest on Art-zavod Platforma, Kyiv can boast of lesser-known, yet just as intriguing events. One of them is a grand Kyiv Wine festival that will take place at the beginning of June. This year organizers chose a large 2-hectare location in the historical Podil district in Kyiv to host grand degustation zones with more than 500 types of wine and a food market.

The first day of the festival will be focused entirely on wine: 50 winemakers from all over the world will visit the event to present wines from Italy, France, Portugal, Georgia, Spain and many other countries. The range of products from classic white to rosé will allow every visitor find something up to their taste. The second day will be dedicated solely to a Food Market with more than 20 stalls of fresh and healthy food: seafood, vegetarian spots with avocado, and much more. The ticket price starts at UAH 750.

Holi Festival

A traditional Indian festival has long gone beyond the country’s borders and is celebrated in Ukraine as well. Also known as the festival of colors, this Hindu celebration usually takes place in spring to cast away the foul spirits of winter and encourage the coming of spring. In 2018, the massive cultural festival will take place in summer on the territory of the large Kyiv sports arena — to make sure it starts brightly and lasts memorably. Holi will feature a traditional battle of colors set to the lively music. Besides, various workshops, Mehendi design stalls, as well as food market with Indian and Ukrainian dishes will be available here as well. The price starts at UAH 100.

BeLIVE Festival

Way back in cold March, the founder of Ulichnaya Eda food fest has announced a new bright summer event – BeLIVE festival 2018 that will take place at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kyiv. On June 21-24, visitors will be able to enjoy 10 interactive zones: such as stand-up comedy, cinema, art, video-blogging, design, and fashion, street food and sport. The focus, of course, is made on music.

BeLIVE will feature three stages: Main Stage with headliners of the festival, White Night Stage for electronic music, and My Music Stage where Ukrainian musicians will light up the stadium. Slowly but surely, provide small sneak peeks: for now, we know that the British funk musician Jamiroquai and synth-pop band Hurts are among the main headliners. The ticket price starts at UAH 1350.

Leopolis Jazz Fest

The 8th International Leopolis Jazz Fest will traditionally take place in Lviv in 2018. The city officials and festival organizers keep the reliable strategy: 5 days, multiple locations, more than 170 musicians from 16 countries. The stars of international jazz will occupy stages set up in the downtown of Lviv to fill the city with charming improvisation. Besides, the festival coincides with Constitution Day in Ukraine, celebrated on June 28. To mark the occasion, the famous electronic musician ONUKA will give a performance on Rynok square in the heart of Lviv. The price starts at UAH 900.

Atlas Weekend

Surely one of the loudest events of summer 2018, Atlas Weekend music festival in Kyiv has found a new, larger platform to host more music fans. This year the event will take place at the Expocenter of Ukraine and as usual will feature the world-class music stars: British electro band The Chemical Brothers, English indie musician Tom Odell, British alternative band Nothing but Thieves and Lost Frequencies — a famous DJ and headliner of the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium. What’s more, this isn’t the complete list of headliners — each month the fest’s organizers drop the exciting news. The ticket price starts at UAH 1700.

Santa Muerte Carnival

One more bright cultural festival that will take place in summer 2018 in Ukraine is the famous Santa Muerte carnival. The traditional Mexican event celebrates the Lady of Holy death, a female deity of Mexican folk religion. Despite being condemned by the Catholic church, the carnival still takes place in Mexico as well as in the Southwestern United States and gathers millions of tourists each year.

Luckily, there’s no need for dwellers of Ukraine to fly to Mexico in 2018 — the local celebration of the summer festival will take place on Art-zavod Platforma in Kyiv. Organizers of the event promise a bright parade, various Mexican food stalls and a load of Margaritas. The ticket price is to be announced.

Файне Місто / Faine Misto Festival

Another famous summer music festival will traditionally take place in Ternopil in Western Ukraine. Faine Misto festival (which means “good city”) operates according to their usual slogan “the territory of free people”. Indeed, the huge territory of Ternopil Hippodrome will become a tent town where friendly tourists from all over Eastern Europe can find a good company. In 2018 the festival has a special headliner — the legendary Finnish rock band Rasmus that has luckily performed in Ukraine before. Apart from rock songs, the stage will be filled with pop and folk motifs from Adept, To the Rats and Wolves, Infected Rain and other headliners. The ticket price starts at UAH 170.

Upark Festival

Truly the largest summer music festival of 2018 in Ukraine is Upark in Kyiv that will present the world-wide famous musicians that need to introduction. During two days the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium will be filled with live music by Gorillaz, Massive Attack, Tove Lo, Kaleo, Little Dragon, and Bonobo.

Revolutionaries and Grammy nominees will give their first concerts in Ukraine for the eager audience. The tickets for the festival are sold quite quickly, and fests’ organizers even changed the location for a bigger one after the massive spike of interest. The price starts at UAH 1000.

Ulichnaya Eda: 5 Years. 5 Senses

Time truly flies and the solid proof of this fact is the 5-year anniversary that the most famous food festival in Ukraine celebrates in summer 2018. The events by Ulichnaya Eda are known for its grandeur and lively vibes, as well as for introducing the Kyiv public to new unusual flavors. This summer the organizers promise even more intriguing vendors to celebrate the big date. Besides, recreation zone with swimming pools, live music, and pop-up beauty salons will be traditionally set up too. The ticket price is UAH 100.
When: August 3-5, 10 P.M.

Koktebel Jazz Festival

Last but certainly not least, the oldest music festival in Ukraine Koktebel Jazz Festival 2018 will take place this summer near Odesa. For 16 years the event has been gathering lovers of jazz on the best beaches of the country to share the love of music and wonderful location. Traditionally the festival will feature three regular stages: Nu Jazz, Open Stage, and Special Stage, as well as a secret location that will appear only in 2018.

Koktebel Jazz Festival will start with the grand performance of the Ukrainian musician Onuka who will light up the stage with her best hits and new songs from the Mozaïka album. There are four types of tickets that give different access to the festival: one-day pass, four-day pass, tent town voucher, and a special Backstage Bruch Club with the chance to attend an excursion to the backstage. The price starts from UAH 145.
