Amplitude Art Project in Kyiv FACE Foundation Art Space

The grand opening of the ‘Amplitude’ group art project will take place on May 18 in FACE Foundation. Contemporary Ukrainian artists will present their inner works of mind via various media, such as painting, graphics, sculpture, video art, and collages. The artists study amplitude of oscillations, ponder on the concepts of eternity, tranquility and harmony in a modern dynamic world.

At what point does the all-sustaining balance in the society collapse? Can we, as a modern society, observe and change it? These are the questions that have been philosophically reinterpreted and visualized by project participants: Artem Volokitin, Tatyana Malinovskaya, Alina Fedotova, Alexey Yalovega, and Bogdan Tomashevsky.

The central part of the exposition is a composition of the four large-scale paintings by Artem Volokitin. Created in the technique of magical realism and neo-baroque, they depict rocking crystal chandeliers in a realistic black-and-white garden, which symbolizes the search for stability and balance. Tatyana Malinovskaya visualizes her pseudo-scientific experiences of physical phenomena by presenting a laboratory of linoleum prints, amplitude oscillation charts, incisors and graphs-impressions.

Alina Fedotova dedicates her video work IRMA to the beauty and reinterpretation of the destructive power of hurricanes. Alexey Yalovega explores the shape and balance by experimenting with enamels and pseudo-ceramics, essentially looking for the ideal form.
A clay work by Bogdan Tomashevsky makes the visitors ponder over our own search for balance.
The exhibition was initiated by the founder of FACE Foundation Tatiana Mironova.
The entrance is free.
When: May 18 (6.30 P.M.) — June 6
