Dancers After Dark
Brucie Collections art gallery in Kyiv (55B, Artema street, Kyiv) is famous for its photo art exhibitions. Crème de la crème photoart of Helmut Newton, Leni Rieffenstahl, Steve McCurry, Howard Schatz, Albert Watson, Guido Argentini, Roxanne Lowit, Joseph Hoflehner, Tierry Le Goues were showcased at Brucie Collections.
On June 1st, 2017 Brucie Collections presented Dancers After Dark photo exhibition. Dancers After Dark features artists from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Dutch National Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Houston Ballet, Cirque du Soleil, and many others. For over two years, these fearless performers were photographed nude at night in iconic locations throughout Europe and North America, exploring the most compelling reaches of the human form. The exhibition will be showcased at Brucie Collections art gallery till September 17th, 2017.

Find Your Tribe and Love Them Hard
Shcherbenko Art Center (22V, Mykhaylivs’ka str., Kyiv) presents the project by Ukrainian artist Oksana Levchenya-Konstantinovska called “Find your tribe and love them hard”. The project consists of a series of photographs, in which the artist appears dyed with ritual colors of the tribes of Africa, South America and Australia, the images of which she drew from the legendary “Ethnography” by German ethnologist Friedrich Ratzel. The artist worked with famous fashion photographer Ksenia Kargina on this project.
You can interrupt the endless run from yourselves and resume the search for “your tribe”, referring to the project by Oksana Levchenya-Konstantinovska, at Shcherbenko Art Centre until July 2nd, 2017.
The Glass World of People and Things…
Voloshyn Gallery (13 Tereschenkivska str., Kyiv) presents the The Glass World of People and Things… exhibition by Maria Sulymenko, the artist, whose name is new to exhibition visitors. It is little wonder, because Maria Sulymenko is the author of Ukrainian origin, who now lives in Germany, and this exhibition is her first project at the homeland. Some of the artist’s artworks have already been demonstrated by Voloshyn Gallery in the United States at the SCOPE Miami Beach 2016 art show.
The watercolor paintings of Maria Sulymenko represented at the The Glass World of People and Things… exhibition show both simplicity and laconism, and at the same time, something that is hold an audience spellbound. Everything that happens like slow-motion or is frozen in space pictures, and is immersed in an atmosphere of transparent grey air. The exhibition will be showcased at the Voloshyn Gallery until June 26th, 2017.
IN PROGRESS: The Dress Code of Ukraine
Mystetskiy Arsenal (10-12, Lavrska str, Kyiv) presents IN PROGRESS: The Dress Code of Ukraine art project. Fashion has always been a reflection of people`s imagination about the perfect world and how they can perfect themselves in this world. That is why this project is not a story about Ukrainian fashion, or, at least, not only that. It is a story about our society, our country reflected by the clothing models, created by Ukrainian designers. The exhibition will be opened on June 14th, 2017 and will last till August 8th, 2017.
Fragile State
The PinchukArtCentre, a Kyiv center for contemporary arts, and the Marina Abramović Institute are looking for participants in Generator, a new performance by Abramović that will begin on June 16th as part of the Fragile State exhibition at the PinchukArtCentre.
Abramović is a New York-based Serbian performance artist famous for her honest – and sometimes shocking – artworks.
Applicants should be from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to dance, theatre, performance, yoga, art history, science and psychology. The role is physically demanding and requires the ability to stand for long periods. People with durational practices such as dance, meditation, sports and yoga are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should have an interest in durational performance art and be comfortable interacting with the public.
All applicants must be at least 18 years old. All facilitators will be required to participate over some weekends.
