On December 19, the festive opening of the main country`s Christmas tree and winter fair with souvenirs, food court and hot drinks will take place on Sofiyivska square in the heart of Kyiv. The visitors will be fascinated by beautiful neon lights and installation with starry sky made of 33-meter long garlands. On Mykhailivska square, locals and guests of the city will have a chance to visit amusement park with carousel and other attractions.
During the whole holiday period, from December 14 till January 14, the great winter festival “Winter at VDNH” will be held on the territory of the National Expocenter of Ukraine (1, Glushkova av.). The festival opened its doors on December 9, working in a test mode. The official opening of the festival with more than 20 various entertainment locations for kids and grown-ups is scheduled for December 16. The holiday mood in the air will be ensured by many kilometers of shining garlands, thematic music, big Christmas tree and work of animators. 
The entrance to the National Expocenter of Ukraine is free of charge. Visitors are welcome to enjoy many free entertainments including winter fair with glassblowing show, art pavilion, photo areas, food courts, games with animators near Christmas tree and some other activities. However, “Winter at VDNH” festival will present some large fee-based entertainment zones as well. The guests are offered to buy separate tickets for each zone or a general ticket allowing entering all zones.

All payments on the territory of the park will be done by credit cards. If you do not have a credit card, you will be able to get one easily right on location without providing your passport and ID.

“Ice Age” holiday festival will take place on Spivoche Pole (“Singing field”) park at 25, Lavrska street in the center of Kyiv from December 15 till January 30. Festive atmosphere will be created by snowy slopes decorated by shining garlands, Christmas tree, merry music and numerous amusement locations for all age groups. Here visitors will enjoy sliding on air pillows down snowy hills, contact zoo with little puppies, riding huskypulled sleds, exciting attractions for kids, exhibition of flower compositions and snow figures, food courts, photo areas and five zones with warm tents. The guests will be offered to buy sweets, honey, woolen clothes, gifts, souvenirs and many other interesting things. Entry fee is UAH 50 with snowtubing included into price.

Holiday fair, amusements and entertainments also await everyone in Taras Shevchenko park in the course of “New Year Adventures in Ice Kingdom” festival. The event will last from December 16 till January 14.
Maryyinsky park near Arsenalna subway station invites everyone interested to take part in amusing activities offered by “Santa`s Town” culture and art project from December 16 till January 15.
On December 23 – January 14, Kyiv dwellers and guests are welcome to “Carol Fest” that will take place in the Central Culture and Recreation park near Friendship Arch. The visitors will have fun at holiday fair and “Ukrainian Kolyada in City Garden” music event.
“Fairy Tales of Old Podil” event on Kontraktova square on December 26 – January 9 will unite holiday fair, park of fairy tale sculptures and attractions. 
On December 19, holiday fair and ice skating rink will be opened on Kontraktova square. Everyone is welcome to have fun there until January 16.
As for ice skating rinks, many of them will show up not only in the center of Kyiv, but also in other districts.
In Desnyansky district, a rink will be arranged in Desnyansky park at 29, Mayakovskogo av. Another rink will welcome its visitors in Goloseyevsky district of Ukrainian capital. It will be available in M. Rylsky park. 
The administration of Darnitsky district announces opening of several ice skating rinks at the following addresses: 52, 148-а and 174-а Kharkivske highway; 25, Revutskogo street; 4, Koshitsa street; 41, Grygorenko av.; 19, Sevastopilska street.
Ice skating rink in the central Pechersk district will be arranged at 8, Prymachenko blvd.
