High Castle Hill

If you take around 30-minute walk from Rynok Square you’ll get to the High Castle (Vysoky Zamok) on Castle Hill (Zamkova Hora). No doubt, it is a quintessential Lviv experience. There’s little evidence of the 14th-century ruined stone fort that was Lviv’s birthplace over there, but the summit mound sporting a huge Ukrainian flag in the middle of the viewing platform, offers 360-degree views of the city and the wooded hills between which it nestles. To reach Vysoky Zamok on foot head up Kryvonosa street from Pidvalna street until you reach a cafe and public restrooms where you should take a left turn. After a few minutes you will see a set of metal steps on the right. If you're feeling lazy, you can take a taxi most of the way up, approaching from the east via Vysoky Zamok street.

The 19th-century Ratusha stands in the middle of the plaza, with fountains featuring Greek gods at each of its corners. Panorama Bar is located in Dnister Hotel in a quiet residential area of Lviv. The venue itself might seem like nothing special: the drinks are pricey, and the music might not be for everyone, but the view includes all the major architectural attractions of Lviv from a rather flattering perspective.
