Digital Trips to Ukrainian Open-Air Museums from Google

Google and the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture have digitized seven open-air museums in different parts of the country and launched “Museums of Ukraine under the open sky” special website.  The website offers exiting 3D tours which allow to make a virtual journey and learn more about Ukraine’s history and its vernacular  architecture.

Tours are offered in 3 languages: Ukrainian, Russian and English. Also, these tours are available in Google Maps, including the Street View mode. Visitors of the web page can observe the museum they are interested in with a 360-degree panorama.
Guests can see the unique ethnographic collection, discover how their ancestors lived in different regions of the country in XV-XIX centuries. In addition, they can even look inside and enjoy the Museum displays.

The list of open air museums on the web page includes National Museum of folk architecture and life in Pyrogovo, "Shevchenkivskyy Gai" Museum of folk architecture and life in Lviv, Museum of folk architecture and life of the Middle Dnipro region (Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky), Transcarpathian Museum of folk architecture and rural life in Uzhgorod, “Mamaeva Sloboda” Centre of Ethnology in Kyiv, “Khortytsya” national reserve in Zaporizhzhya, the Residence of Bohdan Khmelnytsky in Chigirin.
