Airlines News Digest: June 2018

A few weeks after the UEFA Championship final in Kyiv the city is still filled with tourists exploring the hidden gems and the most popular sightseeing locations. No wonder that more and more airlines add Ukrainian cities to their routes: this month brings us Barcelona, Tel Aviv, Brussels and many other cities to enjoy with comfortable non-stop flights. Besides, there are a few special price offers to the faraway destinations from Johannesburg to Boston.

Ukrainian airlines YanAir and Join Up travel agency have added a new flight Odesa-Barcelona. The weekly flight will operate on Saturdays and is already available for sale. The agency also works on the new destinations to reach from Odesa, like Rimini in Italy and Tivat in Montenegro.
Besides, YanAir has renewed the popular flight Odesa-Tel Aviv. Every Thursday and Sunday Boeing 737-400 will leave at 2 and 5 P.M. accordingly. The flight will last 2 hours 50 minutes. The prices start from USD 150.

Ukrainian International Airlines has launched an important route - starting this summer, passengers can enjoy a non-stop flight Kyiv-Toronto. The flight will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays in summer and twice a week in winter. The first flight took place on June 6 and was greeted by an ambassador of Ukraine in Canada Andriy Shevchenko in the Pearson airport.

A nice option for summer vacation is now available thanks to Ellinair and new flight Lviv- Thessaloniki. The charter flight will appear in the timetable every 10 days. Starting June 8, Ellinair will add one more Greece destination — Heraklion in Crete. The price for one-way ticket starts at €200.
The largest Belgian aviation company Brussel Airlines launches a new flight Kyiv-Brussels this autumn. Starting November 17, the flight will take off every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flights have convenient time for business and travel purposes: 1.55 P.M. (Mon, Wed) and 4.35 P.M. (Fri, Sun). The round trip price starts at €70.

Ukrainian charter Bravo Airways will provide a getaway to Lublin from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Kherson starting June 15. The flights to Poland will be operated from Kyiv Zhuliany airport three times a week and will last about an hour and twenty minutes. Kharkiv and Kherson have nighttime flights (4.15 and 3.10 accordingly), as well as more convenient evening and morning flights. Booking is already available.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan has reported that Ukraine is in a dire need of creating more hub airports that allow big number of passengers to navigate conveniently between flights or change means of transport to and from their destination points. Odesa, Kharkiv, Lviv and Dnirpo airports may become such hubs to get on the same level as Boryspil International Airport in Kyiv.
Those who fly with Ukrainian International Airlines should pay special attention to the new price policy: starting June 15, printing a boarding pass at the airport will cost €15. Passengers can use mobile devices to save boarding pass or print it after online check-in like before.

Ukrainian low-cost airlines SkyUp has started charter flights to Egypt and Turkey, which is the first stage of their economic strategy. The next level will involve launching domestic low-cost flights and the final stage focuses on adding new regular international flights.

A rare chance to travel to North America with cheap tickets is provided by Austrian Airlines. Till June 15, economic class tickets from Kyiv, Odesa, Lviv and Dnipro will cost from USD 440 to USD 670 with the luggage fee included. Finally, the largest Greek aviation company Aegean Airlines has announced a special offer for a non-stop Kyiv-Athens flight. Round-trip prices in November and December start at €85 with the luggage fee included.
