Irish pub O'Brien's
One of the oldest pubs in Kyiv opened way back in 1997, still firmly holds the status of a reliable place ever since. Curiously, it is also the first Irish pub in the capital; its interior was designed by an Irish team: O'Briens takes up two floors, gives an opportunity to play snooker or watch football on a huge HD screen. Apart from that, fans of live music can appreciate rock'n'roll, jazz and blues bands performing here from Thursday to Saturday. As for the beer, the place offers more than 20 styles of beer, ranging from English, Belgium, German to Czech and local Ukrainian, like "Lvivske". Meat dishes and snacks take up the most part of the menu. Thus, schnitzel, potatoes Creole and hot cheese plate are among the most popular picks.

Golden Gate Pub
It’s another Irish pub, but this time the one that stays away from the traditional interior. Golden Gate has three halls: main with a projector and two small ones. Weekend here starts with live music, so naturally Fridays and Saturdays are packed with people who long for a glass of cold one and musical companionship. The range of beer is quite wide, although Irish beer is represented only by Kilkenny and Guinness. Apart from this, you will find 8 styles of Ukrainian beer, Grimbergen and craft beer, which have set a trend in the last couple of years. Menu is focused mainly on snacks and includes dishes from Irish kitchen, like Dublin steak or Irish pie with chicken.

Beer Club Натюрліх (Naturlih)
Styled like traditional German pubs, Naturlih has been a favorite place to crash at for many locals since 2009. The pub has 4 spacious halls, each of them reminding of German pubs in a carefully picked interior. Naturally, the menu is full of classic dishes from German cuisine: fried potatoes with sausages, sausages assorti, shank Eisbein and a beer plate. About 40 styles of beer are available for your choice here. Note that some of them are exclusive: you won't find Barbar Blond, Double Chocolade and Erdinger Weissbier anywhere else.

Pilsner Bar
Good ol' and reliable, this pub has been operating since 1997. It is designed to match all the basics and most intricate details of Czech pubs. It is the only place in Kyiv where you can try Pilsner Urquell, a lager brewed since 1842. Velkopopovicky Kozel Cerny, the classical Czech pick, naturally is also on the menu. Apart from this you will find Gambrinus, Litovel and craft beer from the local "Zypa" brewery. If you aren't sure which beer is to your taste yet, degustation sets of Czech or craft beers are available. Dishes from Czech and Carpathian cuisine accompany beverages here.

The place is worth its hype: divided into two zones, it is decorated with photos of Tesla's life, patents of his inventions and trinkets that match the mood. Here you can taste 8 styles of beer, mostly Ukrainian, like Lvivske, Bilyi Lev, and Kronenbourg Blanc. For those seeking quantity, beer in boxes or "a meter of beer" (3 l) is available at Tesla.
