Cotnar

Cotnar winery, founded in 2005, is among young and promising Ukrainian wineries. Cotnar brand owns a modern full-cycle plant and 200 hectares of vineyards in Muzhiyevo village of Zakarpattya region. The history of this family enterprise began in 1998 near Velyka Dolyna village in Odesa oblast well-known as the most successful Ukrainian wine region. That year, Ruben and Robert Guliyev purchased grape seedlings from a French company. Magarach is a name of Yalta city outskirts in Crimea. This name became a part of winegrowing and viticulture institute founded in 1828. Today Magarach wine institute in the annexed Crimean peninsula is a world-famous scientific establishment with the high scientific and technical potential. The institute owns a unique library that includes more than 100 000 printed titles, half-million patent fund, the large collection of grapes with more than 3200 varieties and forms. The institute produces many unique selection varieties as Magarach Pervenec, Magarach Yubileinyi, Magarach Antey, Podarok Magaracha and many other. Massandra winery is located on the Southern coast of Crimean peninsula in a similarly named village. Massandra`s wine collection is one of the largest in the world. It consists of around 1 million bottles and was included into Guinness Book of World Records in 1998. Some of the bottles are 235 years old!
