In warm summer days, each of us needs something to feel fresh and relaxed. Going to some nice bar and ordering a delicious cocktail is the first option that comes to mind. This is a perfect way to spend a great summer evening. However, if you are not in the mood to go out, but still want to have a tasty drink, you can always make a cocktail on your own. Here are few recipes of the best summer cocktails for hot evenings.

Aperol Spritz

Aperol Spritz is a low alcohol refreshing drink with the taste of fruits and bitter citrus. This cocktail took its name from well-known Aperol bitter, which originated in 1919. This cocktail is very popular in the whole Europe and especially in Venice. Aperol Spritz is easy to make, so one can mix all ingredients and enjoy the perfect taste at home. You will need the following:
– 100 ml of Prosecco;
– 50 ml of Aperol bitter;
– 50 ml of tonic or mineral water;
– a wedge of orange or grapefruit.
Put Prosecco, Aperol and tonic (water) into a cooled glass, add ice, mix properly and decorate with a citrus wedge.

Mohito

Mohito was the favorite cocktail of Ernest Hemingway. One of the legend says that Mohito has been made for the first time in a small restaurant of Havana in the beginning of 1940s. Soon all Cuba and then the whole world knew the recipe of this delicious drink. To make a real Mohito, follow these instructions:
– put three wedges of lime into a highball and press them with muddler;
– add 10 leaves of mint;
– fill highball with broken ice;
– add 15 ml of sugar liquor and 50 ml of white rum;
– add soda water and stir with a spoon;
– add some more broken ice;
– decorate cocktail with a mint leaf.
Berry Daiquiri

Daiquiri classic cocktail was also born on Cuba. In 1905, Jennings Cox, a mining engineer, made the first Daiquiri cocktail with sugar, fresh lime juice and rum (the simplest recipe). Nowadays, there are a lot of Daiquiri recipes. Berry Daiquiri, a great summer drink, is one of them. You will need the following ingredients to make this cocktail:
– 175 g of strawberry or 200 g of raspberry (or use 100 g of each berry);
– 6 pieces of ice;
– juice of 1/2 lime;
– 1 tablespoon of lemon juice;
– 100 ml of white rum;
– a small piece of lime.
If you use raspberry, first you have to pure it with help of strainer in order to get rid of kernels. Put ice cubes into a blender and crash them. Add strawberry or raspberry puree, lime and lemon juice and rum. Mix with a blender and pour into a glass. Decorate with a lime wedge.

Sangria

Sangria originated in South Spain and Portugal in XIX century. In that time, fruit pickers took bota bags with mix of wine, water and citrus juice to work. This drink facilitated their hard work in the sun, giving a feeling of freshness but not making them drunk. Here is the recipe of Sangria.
Ingredients:
– a bottle of red wine;
– the same volume of water;
– pieces of apples and oranges;
– a handful of berries, for example, grapes, cherries or strawberries;
– 2-3 wedges of lemon;
– a spoon of sugar (optionally).
Mix all berries and fruits with wine, water and sugar. Leave the drink in the fridge for a night. Serve in a glass with ice cubes.
Watermelon Margarita

There are numerous legends about origins of famous Margarita cocktail. However, the story of Margarita Sames, a Texan noblewoman, is considered as a classic version. The legend tells that in 1948 Margarita organized a party in her Acapulco residence, and during the event she mixed a new cocktail to impress the guests. There are lots of Margarita recipes, and Watermelon Margarita is especially good for summer. Ingredients:
– 2 kg of watermelon pulp;
– 450 ml of lemonade;
– 350 ml of tequila, vodka or rum.
Cut watermelon pulp into pieces and mix them in blender. Then pure with strainer. Add tequila and lemonade.
Enjoy warm summer nights, holding a glass with a tasty cocktail in your hand.
