Vozdvizhenka district is known for picturesque pastel houses and an abundance of little art shops with unique souvenirs. The place is being visited by many people who want to find healthy food in Mira café or have a cup of coffee with a view on Podil. That’s why the location for the new Mai Satai is just perfect — easily reachable from the Kontraktova Ploschcha metro station, it also calls for a walk on Andriivskyi District.

The main focus of the menu that is also reflected in the title is satai — an Indonesian dish of skewered and grilled meat, seasoned and served with a sauce. While the meat choice may range from chicken to mutton, there are vegetarian versions of satai from tofu or coconut palm frond. Thus, satai with marinated tofu will cost UAH 47 in the new Kyiv spot and satai with chicken hearts will have a price of UAH 37. The dish is prepared on a special grill Robata, where dishes are cooked over hot charcoal in different speeds.

Another shtick in Mai Satai is a well-known Japanese dish ramen that has gained massive popularity in Kyiv already. Guests will have a chance to try the classic flavor — ramen with pork ribs — for UAH 120. Mai Satai is heavily oriented on presenting every-day dishes to the Ukrainian public, so the portions are promising as well.
The beverages introduce a rather new method in Ukrainian fine dining spots — cocktails on tap. While the restaurant works in a test mode, every cocktail and food items on the menu are sold with 30% discount. The official opening of Mai Satai will take place in June.
