Woman of Ukraine Award Ceremony 2018

March in Ukraine is almost synonymous with womanhood due to the International Women’s Day that is largely celebrated in the country. Another grand event celebrating women was held on March 15 — Woman of Ukraine 2018 Award Ceremony in Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv. 14 Ukrainians received the prestigious award — let’s see how it went.

The festive night started with a welcoming speech of the President of Edipresse Media Ukraine Inna Katyushchenko. Throughout the night filled with welcoming atmosphere and light humor, honored guests and experts entered the stage to announce the award winners. Nominees of Woman of Ukraine 2018 are wonderful Ukrainians who serve as an inspiration and prove the women are able to do anything and never once give up.
14 statuettes created by the famous Ukrainian sculptor Vladimir Tsisarik specifically for the award were given the winners in the following categories:
"Health and Medicine" — Ekaterina Yatsenko, PhD, Senior Research Associate at Bohomolets Institute of Physiology and renown neurologist;
"Psychology and self-development" — Svetlana Royz, one of the best children's and family psychologists in Ukraine, mother of two;
"Higher Education" — Olga Porkuyan, the President of East Ukrainian Volodymyr Dahl National University;
"Secondary education" — Lilia Grinevich, former teacher, later director of school, and now the Minister of Education and Science;
"Social contribution" — Lesya Litvinova, television director in the past, now an active volunteer who helps immigrants from the East of Ukraine, creator of the ‘Frolovskaya 9/11’ Volunteer Center;
"Sports" — Olga Harlan, Ukrainian fencer, a five-time world champion with more than 40 awards from the world championships and Europe;
"Fashion and Beauty" - Maria Maslyi, a designer, creator of the first Ukrainian brand of premium footwear MARSALA;
"Culture" — Irma Vitovska, a famous theater and TV actress most known by the role of Lesia in the series "Lesia + Roma”, activist for revival of the Ukrainian language;
"Show business" — Jamala, Ukrainian singer, winner of Eurovision 2016;

"Business. Startup" — Tatyana Bondarchuk, founder of EatEasy: healthy food delivery;
"Business. Entrepreneurship" — Natalia Eremeeva, co-founder of the Stekloplast LLC, a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs, a mother of three;
"Business. Management" — Alla Savchenko, a senior partner and president of BDO Ukraine, one of the largest audit companies in the country;
"Science" — Ella Libanova, a honored economist of Ukraine, often called main demographer of the country, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, phD;
Special nomination "Inspiration of the Year" — Olga Voynikova, a teacher at the Berdiansk Gymnasium No. 1 "Nadiya", founder of free Ukrainian language courses for adults.

The ceremony was accompanied by performances of the string quartet Asturia and light performance from the Ballet A6. The culmination of the evening was the performance of the rising star of Ukrainian show business TAYANNA, who presented her song "Power". Photos provided by Edipresse Media Ukraine.
