John Malkovich and Symphonic Orchestra

July 1 meets Kyiv with the grand concert on Sofiiska Square — a famous composer Riccardo Muti brings his project ‘Paths of Friendship’ all the way from Italy to Ukraine. A grand orchestra, along with the best opera singers, will perform for the Ukrainian public for free. The special guest of the event is an Oscar nominee John Malkovich, who will read the Lincoln Portrait poem to the sounds of live music. Giuseppe Verdi’s pieces from Nabucco, Stabat Mater, and Te Deum are highlights of the upcoming event.

Atlas Weekend 2018

One of the main events of summer 2018, Atlas Weekend festival will be hosted in the Expocenter of Ukraine and as usual will feature the worldwide stars: British electro band The Chemical Brothers, English indie musician Tom Odell, British alternative band Nothing but Thieves and Lost Frequencies — a famous DJ and headliner of the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium. The ticket price starts at UAH 1700.

Soul Jazz from Texas: Lee Mays

In July Kyiv locals will have a chance to listen to the soul straight from the USA. Lee Mays started writing music when he was a teenager and soon toured the country with the first successful album. The delicate sounds of live jazz will fill the Caribbean club in the downtown Kyiv. The ticket price starts at UAH 120.

UPARK 2018

During two days in July, the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Stadium in Kyiv will be filled with live music by Gorillaz, Massive Attack, Tove Lo, Kaleo, Little Dragon, and Bonobo. Many of the world music legends will give their first concerts in Ukraine this summer. The tickets for the festival are sold quite quickly, and fests’ organizers even changed the location for a bigger one after the massive spike of interest. The price starts at UAH 1000.

Warhaus

A legend of Scandinavian Indie Maarten Devoldere will give a sensual concert in the renewed Green Theater in Kyiv. Co-founder of the famous Balthazar band had already recorded two solo albums, which steadily climbed the local and international music charts. The Belgium musician will present the best hits from both. The ticket price starts at UAH 600.

Lviv
Leopolis Jazz Fest

The International Leopolis Jazz Fest will take place in Lviv in 2018 to mark the 8th anniversary. During the 5 days, more than 170 musicians from 16 countries will present their best hits in various locations in the Old Town. Several stages will be set up in the downtown of Lviv to fill the city with charming improvisation. The ticket price starts at UAH 900.

LvivMozArt

Not many people know that Franz Xaver Mozart, son of the famous composer, had lived in Lviv from 1808 to 1830. The festival is inspired by the works of Franz, as well as other classic musicians from Strauss to Vagner. Lviv Opera House will host a string of concerts, featuring international opera starts, love letter readings, as well as a grand violin concert with the instrument used by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The ticket price differs depending on the event and starts at UAH 200.

The Gitas

The unusual duo of the former frontman of the Ukrainian band Dymna Sumish and a Guatemalan musician was formed in the United States later to become The Gitas. The band writes electronic music, sampled by the ex-member of The Erised, filled with authentic vibes. The Gitas have recently returned from their tour in Guatemala and will present songs from the new EP at their concert in Lviv. The ticket price starts at UAH 250.

ONUKA

The first day of the new month will be marked by a vibrant performance of Ukrainian electronic musician ONUKA. The concert will take place in the famous Ibiza club, located on the Arcadia Beach. The young artist will perform the best hits and new songs from the MOZAÏKA album. The ticket price starts at UAH 350.

Pianoboy

Ukrainian musician Dmitro Shurov, commonly known as Pianoboy, will hold a concert topped with the intricate light among the bushy Green Theater Park in Odesa. Visitors will have a chance to hear tender vocals and intricate piano melodies from “Prostyye Veschi” (“Simple things”), “Ne Prekrashay Mechtat`” (“Don`t stop dreaming”) and “Take Off” albums. The ticket price starts at UAH 290.

Game of Thrones

The magnificent Odesa Opera House will host a grand concert, dedicated to movie and TV-series soundtracks. The main focus is kept on the Game of Thrones and its musical score throughout the seven seasons.
